10 Wrestling Legends We Want to See in Mattel's WWE Elite Action Figure Line

WWE is no stranger to merchandising options and opportunities, and one of their most lucrative merchandising lines is the WWE Mattel action figure line. The partnership, which began in 2010, saw Mattel take over the fabled WWE action figure line from Jakks Pacific and innovate the line into an adult collector phenomenon, with options including their basic "Main Event" line, the "Elite" line, and the ultra-popular "Ultimate Edition" line.

As the Triple H Era has seen the return of multiple WWE Legends back into the fold, their returns have also included Legends deals that also include the use of the Legends' likenesses for new action figures, some of whom have long been coveted by collectors, including the Steiner Brothers, The Sandman, and others. With the possibility of returns to WWE seemingly endless, here are ten Legends and Superstars from WWE, WCW, and ECW that we would love to see have their very first Mattel action figure soon.

10 Sabu

ECW's Greatest Maniac

SabuWWE

Sabu is, without question, one of ECW's greatest competitors, innovated the way in-ring wrestling was done during the 1990s, and was responsible for some of the most extreme ECW moments. A two-time ECW World Heavyweight Champion, Sabu defined an era of wrestling for hardcore and mainstream fans alike, so it would only be right to see him honored with an official WWE Mattel figure.

Although WWE has previously produced a Sabu figure as part of the Jakks "Classic Superstars" line, Sabu has not appeared in the Mattel line. However, in 2022, Epic Toys created a 6-inch Sabu action figure to rival both the WWE Mattel line and AEW Jazwares lines, so fans can still get their hands on a Sabu figure for their collection.

9 Mortis

Chris Kanyon's Alter Ego

MortisWWE

A character ahead of its time, Mortis was a descendant of The Undertaker and the predecessor of The Fiend and The Demon, a demonic masked character portrayed by WCW and WWE Superstar Chris Kanyon. A character that was part Skeletor, part Papa Shango, Mortis stalked his prey in WCW as part of his feud with Raven's Flock and Glacier, and his WWE dark matches were recently released on the WWE Vault YouTube channel.

It's impossible to know if fences between Kanyon's estate and WWE will be mended enough to bring an overdue Legends contract to life, as the relationship ended acrimoniously amidst accusations of retaliation based on Kanyon's sexual orientation. However, a Mortis figure would be a highly valued, and much-sought-after, figure for the adult collector, and a perfect deep WCW cut for Monday Night Wars fans.

8 Konnan

nWo Wolfpac's Finest

KonnanWWE

One of the coolest members of the nWo Wolfpac, the red and black variant of the nWo that was created after the faction split in 1998 was Konnan, the smooth-talking muscle for Kevin Nash and Co. Konnan, a Mexican wrestling legend and former WCW Television and United States Champion, was one of many former WCW Superstars that never made the jump to WWE after its acquisition in 2001.

For adult collectors, the nWo line has been one of the most exciting in recent years, with the additions of Hollywood Hulk Hogan, The Disciple, Dusty Rhodes, and other deep cut members of the group have been introduced to the line. Without a Konnan figure, every collector's nWo will always be missing a certain K-Dogg influence and presence.

7 Mike Awesome

WCW and ECW's Big Man

Mike AwesomeWWE

A towering figure and an agile performer for his size, Mike Awesome dominated ECW for many years, becoming a two-time ECW World Champion. Awesome has a special place in wrestling history, as he signed to WCW while still being ECW Champion, causing a rare moment where a WWE performer, Tazz, was approved to wrestle and beat WCW's Awesome for the ECW Championship.

Awesome has not been featured in any WWE action figure lines, and it doesn't appear he will have a Legends contract any time soon, making a Mike Awesome Mattel figure very unlikely. However, fans of Awesome were able to get their hands on a licensed 4.5 inch figure, created in the style of the original WWE Hasbro figures from the 1980s and 1990s, from Zombie Sailor Toys.

6 New Jack

ECW's Most Notorious

New Jackpwi-online.com

Anyone who's anyone that watched the original ECW shows as they aired remembers the feeling of mania and euphoria when the music of New Jack filled your television speakers. With a trash can full of weapons and a mind full of violence, New Jack was the king of ECW, personifying the outlaw vision and mindset of the brand itself.

WWE has largely shied away from New Jack in modern times, mostly due to his over-the-top violence and controversial persona in and out of the ring, save for a beautiful Paul Heyman tribute on WWE programming after his passing in 2021, so a New Jack Mattel is almost certainly a pipe dream for all adult collectors. For all ECW fans, their collections will never be complete with such a large performer missing from their shelves.

5 Joey Styles

The Voice of a Generation

Joey StylesWWE

A push has been made recently in the WWE Mattel lines to feature more than just the in-ring talent, as Superstars like Adam Pearce, Miss Elizabeth, and Eric Bischoff have all gotten their own figures in recent years. One missing from the ECW line is Joey Styles, the long-venerated and unsung hero who voiced ECW's television shows and pay-per-views throughout the company's existence.

Styles has completely removed himself from the business since leaving WWE in 2016 and rarely speaks publicly about his career and his time with ECW or WWE. With the recent push of special rings and designs including WCW Nitro and WWE SmackDown, any ECW ring display will feel wholly incomplete with Joey Styles sitting ringside yelling "OH MY GOD!"

4 Blue World Order

ECW's Best Parody

Blue World OrderWWE

At a time when the nWo was white-hot, ECW was doing everything it could to be creative and different, while also lampooning some of wrestling's biggest stars. The most popular, and long-lasting of these, is the Blue World Order, consisting of Stevie Richards, The Blue Meanie, and Super Nova portraying Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Hulk Hogan, respectively. Popular and over during its original run and spawning bWo Japan and a famous match between The Blue Meanie and JBL in 2005, the bWo remains an incredibly popular stable, with a bWo shirt being seen in the front row, hard camera view of most WWE premium live events.

The bWo seems like a slam dunk for WWE and Mattel to create, as the trio is a fun and colorful parody of the nWo, and would be a great addition to the Elite lineup as we approach the 30th anniversary of ECW invading WWE Monday Night Raw. You can currently find bWo 4.5-inch figures through Epic Toys, which created likenesses of all three in a similar design as the WWE Hasbro figures from the 1980s and 1990s.

3 Tazz

"Survive If I Let You"

TazzWWE

Another of the ECW mainstays and most famous faces is Tazz, the no-nonsense submission artist who helped establish ECW as a serious competitor to both WWE and WCW, and made ECW edgier and cooler than ever thought possible. A monster and vicious opponent in the ring, and a two-time ECW Champion, Tazz dominated his foes in both WWE and ECW until injuries forced him into early retirement.

Another classic ECW Superstar missing for adult collectors, Tazz was featured in the "Classic Superstars" line prior to signing with AEW in 2020. AEW and Jazwares have produced Tazz action figures, but not as a performer, only as a commentator and manager for his son, Hook.

2 Luna Vachon

A Women's Wrestling Pioneer

Luna VachonWWE

Women's wrestling was much different in the early 1990s on WWE programming, but one woman who stood out from the rest was Luna Vachon, a raspy-voiced terror inside and outside the ring. Taking up ranks with the likes of Goldust and Bam Bam Bigelow throughout her career, Vachon paved the way for performers like Rhea Ripley and Nikki Cross with her sharp-tongued promo approach and scrappy in-ring presence.

Luna Vachon being missing from all WWE figure lines seems criminal, as she was one of the most visual valets through the New Generation and Attitude Eras of WWE. It's unclear whether Vachon will end up with a Legends deal that will allow her to be featured again on WWE programming and merchandise, but as Jesse Ventura's return taught us, anything is possible.

1 Spike Dudley

"Little Spike Dudley!"

Spike DudleyWWE

The Dudley Boyz are among the most decorated tag teams in wrestling history, paving the way for tag teams after them with their innovative style and methodical promo psychology. One member of the Dudley family who doesn't get quite the same veneration as he should, Spike Dudley, was the human crash test dummy in both ECW and WWE, taking some of the most vicious-looking bumps ever recorded to videotape.

Spike has not been seen much in wrestling circles since retiring from the industry in 2015, but recent photos have emerged of him appearing with Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley, so it's entirely possible that a channel could be open for Spike to return in some capacity. A Spike Dudley figure in the Mattel line would not only complete the legendary Dudley Boyz set for adult collectors, but allow younger fans to recreate some of truly the most insane bumps in WWE history.
