1000-Lb Sisters: Signs Amanda Halterman's Trying To Outshine Tammy Slaton (Does Amanda Have The Same Star Quality?)

1000-Lb Sisters star Amanda Halterman wants to be “the” star of the show with a storyline that’s far better than Amy and Tammy Slaton after suggesting that the next season could be the last. The older sister of Tammy and Amy, Amanda’s difficult weight loss journey has recently started getting attention, years after her siblings became reality TV icons in 2020. Along with the 37-year-old Amy, the 38-year-old Tammy, and 44-year-old Amanda, the 1000-Lb Sisters cast also includes several of their brothers and sisters.

Amanda works as a bus driver in her home state of Kentucky. Being a reality TV cast member is not her only source of income. Still, considering her recent boost in popularity from the show, there’s a chance that Amanda might undergo a career transformation. Amanda had her first weight-loss surgery in 2017 and a revision surgery in March 2023 because she gained back most of the weight. Interestingly, Amanda’s life could change for the better after 1000-Lb Sisters. If Tammy relocates from Kentucky, the show could either end for good or Amanda might replace her sister.

Amanda Halterman's Talking About 1000-Lb Sisters' Cancelation

Does Amanda Dream Of A Show Of Her Own?

In January 2025, 1000-Lb Sisters starAmanda gave some answers during a Q&A session that came as a shock to viewers. The show has mainly focused on Tammy and Amy from the start, but Amanda has recently started getting her own share of publicity on 1000-Lb Sisters. Amanda received a question from a fan who told her she looked amazing and added, “I was wondering if there going to be a season…” Amanda said that replying to the fan could get her into some hairy situations. She admitted the questions were great, and she’d love to answer them all.

However, Amanda revealed she was still under a non-disclosure agreement. She addressed all the things fans had asked and said she couldn’t answer them until the show was “officially canceled and everything has been aired.” Amanda admitted she couldn’t give an update about herself, including how much she weighed now or where Chris, Tammy, Amy, and Mistry were, because it was all part of the show. Unfortunately, Amanda had to abide by the rules and not get herself into trouble.

Amanda did not confirm or deny whether 1000-Lb Sisters has been canceled. However, her response seems to have left some fans feeling concerned about the show’s future. Amanda’s response made it look like the show had reached its final stages and there might just be a season or two left until it ends. Interestingly, apart from Amanda, no other 1000-Lb Sisters cast member has mentioned anything about the future of the show.

Amanda Halterman's Weight Loss Journey's Getting Attention

Amanda Is Making More Headlines Than Tammy For Her Slimmer Than Ever Look

Amanda’s weight-loss journey has also been making headlines. Amanda is now more than 300 pounds slimmer, and the credit goes to her weight-loss surgery. Amanda has promised her fans that the best is yet to come, but she’s already looking so different with her defined jawline and more sculpted appearance, now that her face has lost all of its roundness and fat.

Amanda could be well on her way to getting a new spin-off of her own if 1000-Lb Sisters ever gets canceled, since her journey is no less of an adventure than Tammy and Amy’s.

Amanda and Jason Halterman were married for 22 years and had four sons together. They quietly finalized their divorce in 1000-Lb Sisters before season 4. Amanda was dating a man named RJ from season 6. She even revealed that she was leaving her family to go live with the man. However, the move turned out to be a bad decision for Amanda. RJ ghosted her one day after he drove out of state to go visit family, and never came back home. Amanda moved on quickly once she returned home to her siblings.

Amanda dated someone else unsuccessfully until she met her current boyfriend, who appears to be a man named Leonard E Moore. Amanda confirmed she had been dating him for over three months by January 2025. She has accepted that she is very happy in her new relationship. Amanda was heartbroken after RJ mistreated her. However, Amanda picked up the pieces and has now moved on. She still talks about how RJ ghosted her, but her revealing she has a new man in her life, shows the 1000-Lb Sisters star never gave up on love.
