Jaipur: Doctors taking admission to postgraduate medical courses in Rajasthan government medical colleges will have to execute a service bond of Rs 25 lakh at the time of admission with an assurance of serving the government for two years after completion of the courses. Moreover, the doctors will also have to execute a surety bond of Rs 10 lakh assuring not to leave the seats midway.

These conditions have been specified in the Instruction Booklet for admission to State Medical PG Seats (MD/MS/Post MBBS DNB/Post MBBS Diploma) Allotments 2024.

The Surety and Service Bond Conditions applicable for Govt. medical colleges/RajMes Medical Colleges/RUHS CMS/Government District Hospitals):

Releasing the Instruction Booklet, the State informed that the Chairman of the NEET PG Admission/Counselling Board- 2024, Jaipur, would conduct the centralized common counselling for the session 2024-2025 for admission to PG Medical (M.D./M.S.), Post MBBS DNB, and Post MBBS Diploma Courses for all the four rounds of counselling, i.e., Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and Stray Vacancy Round, in the State of Rajasthan.

The surety and service bond conditions for PG medical admissions are as follows:

Surety Bond:

As per the Booklet, at the time of allotment, the selected candidates (both All India and State quota) will have to submit a surety bond of Rs 10 lacs (Rupees ten lacs) toward 'not to leave the course in between'.

"At the time of final joining, a separate Bank Guarantee for Rs. 1.5 lacs and Bond for Rs. 8.5 lacs is to be submitted (surety bond of Rs. 10 lacs submitted earlier will be returned)," specified the booklet.

Service Bond:

The students who will be selected for PG medical admissions for the academic session 2024-2025 (except the students who are in service of ESI or Central Government or Rajasthan Government or other State Government and already filled service Bond for this purpose), will have to fill a bond amounting to Rs 25 lacs (Rupees twenty-five lacs) for commitment to serve the State for two years.

"It is clarified that a candidate, who on the date of allotment is in the government service, joins the course after resigning / leaving that service, shall have to fill the above service bond," stated the booklet.

"At the time of joining, all the original certificates of the candidate shall be deposited in the concerned allotted college towards execution of the bonds. The concerned allotted college shall have the right to retain all the original certificates of the students till compliance of the conditions of the bonds," it further added.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that back in 2022 the Rajasthan Government had offered partial relief to the Postgraduate and super-speciality medical students belonging to Government medical colleges in Rajasthan by offering one-time relaxation and reducing the bond amount from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. Further, the State had decided to allow a special provision for the students admitted during the years 2019-2020, 2020-2021, and 2021-2022.

Back then, the State specified that if the doctors chose not to undergo government service for the next year after completing one year of bond service, they could be freed from the service terms by depositing Rs 5 lakh with the State.
