Colorado is investing $29 million in a program aimed at getting more young people and families outdoors and forging meaningful connections with nature. The Inspire program, funded in large part by a Great Outdoors Colorado grant, takes place in 15 communities and incorporates local input. In Leadville, Inspire has developed a gear library, summer camps, and days at the local ski area; in Denver, cityWILD holds afterschool programs and outdoor adventures for middle and high schoolers.
