5 Bold Predictions For Fallout Season 2
Prime Video's Fallout season 1 was completely unpredictable, so even the boldest predictions could prove true in the video game adaptation's second season. There were more than a few massive twists and even major retcons to the Fallout games' lore. From seemingly eliminating major factions like Caesar's Legion and the New California Republic to including a massive twist about New Vegas, Fallout season 1 included a surprise for almost every viewer. Fallout season 2 is already promising to be as surprising as the first, so it's only fair to share some more outlandish theories about what could be in store for the cast of Fallout.
Even the most outrageous theories about Fallout season 2 aren't as unlikely as in other shows. Truly anything could happen in the world of Fallout, from massive, radioactive monsters made of human fingers to evil corporations looking to destroy the world for profit. Ella Purnell's comments about Fallout season 2 also indicated that it would be quite shocking, so the show will likely have to make some truly unexpected decisions to keep viewers on their toes. With that in mind, even the boldest of predictions for Fallout season 2 might end up becoming true.
5 Mr. House Got The Platinum Chip & Restarted The Enclave
House Getting The Platinum Chip Would Explain The Enclave's Return & New Vegas' Destruction
After New Vegas appeared at the end of Fallout season 1, the near-immortal capitalist Mr. House has been a major focus of speculation. Most viewers have wondered how the Fallout show will explain destroying New Vegas, and how it will fit in with the canon of Fallout: New Vegas. The Fallout show, however, could use this opportunity to both explain how Mr. House survives the destruction of New Vegas and reveal how the Enclave returned to the Wasteland years after it was destroyed in Fallout 3.
Essentially, Mr. House could have finally gotten the platinum chip he was searching for in New Vegas and used his newfound virtual immortality to spread outside of New Vegas. With his power and influence, House could have resurrected the Enclave's scattered remnants to spread his dream of an unfettered capitalist society well beyond the borders of Vegas. As far-fetched as it seems, that would allow Fallout season 2 to include Mr. House, explain how the Enclave returned after being decimated, and explain why Hank MacLean (Kyle MacLachlan) went to New Vegas in the first place.
4 Norm MacLean Will Lead A Doomed Rebellion In Vault 33
Norm Could Find His Courage Only To Lead Vault 33's Dwellers To Their Doom
Norm MacLean (Moisés Arias) made a huge discovery at the end of Fallout season 1 when he stumbled upon the cryogenically frozen Vault-Tec executives hidden in Vault 31, and Fallout season 2 will need to address it. Norm was trapped by the Brain-on-a-Roomba, but he could probably easily overpower the brain and open the door back into Vault 33. If he does, it's possible that Norm could tell Vault 33 about how Vault-Tec has been manipulating them and use the truth to start a revolution. It would, after all, be the perfect next step in his character arc after telling Lucy (Ella Purnell) how much of a chicken he is.
Norm could tell Vault 33 about how Vault-Tec has been manipulating them and use the truth to start a revolution.
If Norm does end up starting a rebellion against Vault 31 and Vault-Tec, it probably won't end well. Even cryogenically frozen, Vault-Tec is still a massive power. They almost certainly planned ahead for someone discovering their secret, and will be able to wipe both Norm and his fellow revolutionaries out. It would be a fittingly tragic way to keep Norm in Fallout season 2 and advance Vault-Tec's story, but it would also be the perfect way to punctuate Lucy's story. As she loses herself on the surface, she also loses the home she's fighting to protect, which is exactly the kind of irony Fallout loves best.
3 Maximus Will Become The Leader Of The Brotherhood Of Steel & Fallout's New Main Villain
Maximus Gained Power Within The Brotherhood & It Could Easily Go To His Head
Maximus (Aaron Moten) also had a major twist at the end of Fallout season 1. Instead of being executed by the Brotherhood of Steel for impersonating a superior officer, Maximus was celebrated after the Brotherhood found Moldaver's cold fusion chip. Maximus could use his newfound popularity to rise through the ranks of the Brotherhood, and he may even end up taking Elder Cleric Quintus' (Michael Cristofer) place as the leader of the California branch. Quintus is aging, and Maximus made a massive contribution to the Brotherhood by bringing them the cold fusion chip.
Fallout Titles | Year (In-Universe) |
---|---|
Fallout 76 | 2102 |
Fallout | 2161 |
Fallout 2 | 2241 |
Fallout 3 | 2277 |
Fallout: New Vegas | 2281 |
Fallout 4 | 2287 |
Fallout season 1 | 2296 |
If Maximus somehow does end up leading the Brotherhood of Steel on the West coast, the power could easily go to his head. Maximus explicitly stated that he joined the Brotherhood to hurt the people who hurt him, and he instantly let the strength of the Power Armor go to his head when he first put it on. If he leads the Brotherhood of Steel, Maximus could become the new main villain of the Fallout show. He would do anything to protect his power, including going after Lucy.
2 Lucy Will Join Hank MacLean After Her Trip Through The Mojave Wasteland
Lucy Could Start To Agree With Hank That The Wastelanders Should Be Eradicated
Lucy ended Fallout season 1 on a quest for Hank, her father. While she set out with the intention of punishing him for bombing Shady Sands and turning her mother into a feral ghoul. Even though Lucy is clearly on the good side of Fallout now, she could end up joining Hank in Fallout season 2. A major theme of Lucy's story has been about her corruption since entering the Wasteland, and how she's losing pieces of herself both literally and figuratively the further away she gets from Vault 33. Her journey through the Mojave Wasteland may be too much to bear.
Fallout: New Vegas fans know that the Mojave Wasteland is filled with horrors both natural and manmade, and they could end up changing Lucy at a fundamental level. Lucy could become so corrupted by her trip through the Mojave that she actually sees eye-to-eye with Hank and believes that the Wastelanders don't deserve to live. If she does, she may even betray the Ghoul (Walton Goggins) and join her father, turning into a major villain of the Fallout franchise.
1 Barb Howard Will Offer The Ghoul A Cure To His Radiation Sickness, But He'll Refuse
Barb's Vault-Tec Connections Could Help Her Cure Cooper, But His Redemption Arc May Make Him Refuse
The last, and possibly boldest, prediction for Fallout season 2 concerns the Ghoul, formerly known as Cooper Howard. The Ghoul was searching for both the people who ruled the Wasteland and his wife, Barb Howard (Frances Turner), and daughter at the end of Fallout season 2. Once he finds her, Barb may offer the Ghoul a cure to his radiation sickness. A major part of Barb's character is how protective she is of the people she loves, and even though she divorced Cooper, she may have leveraged Vault-Tec's resources to find a cure for ghoulism. Once he finds her, she would offer any help she had.
Unlike Lucy, however, the Ghoul has had a redemption story brewing throughout Fallout season 1. He started as a man who was just out to inflict violence on anyone who could earn him some caps, but he ended up looking for answers and trying to reconnect with his family. If Barb did offer the Ghoul a cure, it would likely come with strings attached, and the Ghoul may turn it down. He'd likely prefer living as an immortal zombie than having to bend to Vault-Tec's will, and his recent redemption may be enough to keep him from siding with an evil faction in Fallout season 2.
