8 Below Deck Franchise Alums With Major Career Updates After Leaving The Show (They Have New Jobs & Are Successful At Them)
Although Below Deckhas its fair share of alumni who have faded into the background, there have been some incredibly successful yachties who have gone on to have big career updates after their time on the show. With many of the most recent Below Deck cast members from all sides of the franchises not returning to the show after appearing for a season, there have been several alumni who have gone on to do different things after the series. While the casts on the recent seasons of Below Deck could still return to the show, others have made big moves.
For many Below Deck viewers, watching the seasons allows them to get to know the cast members well, but following them after the show is just as exciting even if they don’t return to the franchise. Yachties who viewers enjoy following, who may have been great on the show or may have been troublemakers, tend to do a good job at keeping their followers up to date on their lives in the aftermath of Below Deck. While some remain in the industry off screen, others take entirely different paths after the charter season comes to an end.
While there are some yachties who prefer to simply move on with their lives, the majority of Below Deck yachties are interested in maintaining some sort of relationship with the show and its followers. Though leaving Below Deck can sometimes be less of a choice for the yachties and more of a direction at the behest of the Captain, the majority of the yachties that work aboard Below Deck superyachts are good people who go on to pursue all sorts of things in their lives. Even if dismissed, they manage to find their way outside of Below Deck.
Though there are some Below Deck yachties who find themselves excited by the opportunity to stay aboard the superyachts for seasons in succession, those who have chosen to leave the series and find themselves on a new path are worth watching. As the yachties move into new careers, find love, and build families of their own, viewers have gotten the chance to keep up with them and see their new progress. While some have become influencers who post consistently, others only offer the occasional update after their time on Below Deck.
8 Francesca Rubi
Below Deck
Below Deck season 8’s Francesca Rubi may have made some serious waves during her time on the series, but her life after leaving the Bravo series has been even more exciting. Francesca, who worked as the Chief Stew aboard Below Deck season 8’s superyacht, was known for her high level of professionalism while she was part of the show. Handling crew drama amidst a charter season filled with somewhat difficult guests, Francesca worked well under pressure.
After leaving Below Deck, Francesca took her skills and decided to use them on a different path. Working hard to learn how to become a pilates instructor, Francesca employed her hard work and determination in a whole new. Starting her own studio, Francesca did a great job navigating away from the yachting industry and finding a whole new passion, especially one where she was able to utilize her skills.
7 Hannah Ferrier
Below Deck Mediterranean
As a crew member on Below Deck Mediterranean, Hannah Ferrier spent the first five seasons of the series working hard as the crew’s Chief Stew. While she was used to using her skills to ensure that the interior team was working well together and the guest services were running smoothly, Hannah ran into a snag during Below Deck Mediterranean season 5. She left the series after a dramatic run in with Malia White, where Captain Sandy Yawn had no choice but to let her go for safety reasons. After her exit, Hannah put her skills to work.
Running a yachtie training program, Hannah has been able to counsel future yachties through the Ocean International Training Academy. She’s done a great job using the skills she learned as a yachtie to help others, and on top of that, has built a side business as a podcast host. Hannah has also started a family after her time on Below Deck Med, and is a dedicat4ed mother to her young daughter, Ava.
6 Kate Chastain
Below Deck
Although she was one of the original reasons Below Deck drew in viewers and gained popularity, Below Deck viewers only had Kate Chastain on the series for a six-season stretch. As the Chief Stew aboard Below Deck superyachts from the second season to the seventh, Kate was a major part of the show’s growth. Remembered for her no-nonsense attitude and her rapport with Captain Lee Rosbach, Kate chose to leave the show after Below Deck season 7.
After her time on Below Deck, Kate went on to diversify her portfolio as a reality TV star. Initially working with Bravo to continue creating content surrounding Below Deck, Kate was a star on Galley Talk and Couch Talk where she discussed Below Deck in its current iterations as well as her own seasons. Kate continued appearing on different shows, including the first two seasons of The Traitors in recent years. She welcomed a son in mid-2023, which has also kept her fairly busy in the last year.
5 Faye Clarke
Below Deck Adventure
Faye Clarke was known for her time on Below Deck Adventure, even though the series was short-lived. Throughout its short run, Below Deck Adventure took more excursions and brought more fun into the charters that the show’s guests would take. Faye, who was known for her energy and ability to handle pressure, was a big draw of the series. Working as the Chief Stew, Faye knew her place and understood how to keep order, which has served her in her life after the series.
Moving into a new space after Below Deck Adventure, Kate was able to become a part of the entertainment industry after leaving yachting. Working as a presenter and an event host, Faye was able to utilize her skills in a whole new way and build a new career for herself. Faye has also become an influencer during her time post-show, and runs a local bagel catering business in her area. On top of her career achievements, Faye welcomed a daughter in 2023.
4 Colin MacRae
Below Deck Sailing Yacht
As part of the main cast on Below Deck Sailing Yacht for the majority of its run, viewers were shocked that Colin MacRae would be leaving the show after its last season. While his romance with Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher came to an end after Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4, Colin shared that his reason for leaving the show wasn’t because of his relationship with his fellow yachtie crumbling. Instead, the longtime yachtie wanted to focus on building his skills.
In his time after Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Colin has become a far more skilled captain, sailing his own boat and documenting it all online. Sharing his content on his YouTube channel, Colin has been doing his best to educate his followers about his life at sea. While Colin hasn’t shared if he could return to Below Deck Sailing Yacht in the future, he’s been doing a great job making his way in the industry on his own.
3 Kyle Viljoen
Below Deck Mediterranean
Although Kyle Viljoen brought fun and drama to Below Deck Mediterranean season 7 and season 8, his time on the series shockingly came to an end before season 9. Kyle, who was known for his exciting personality and feuds with fellow yachties like Natalya Scudder, left the series despite viewers hoping that he’d return for another season. While he didn’t feel like he could come back for another season of the series, Kyle has utilized his vibrant personality in other avenues.
Sharing his life on social media, Kyle has gone on to become somewhat of an influencer after his time on Below Deck Mediterranean season 8. Not only has he been sharing more of his life online, Kyle has been hosting his own radio show in New York City under the DJ name Kyle Riley. The show, called The Bold Sessions, features a weekly look at the music Kyle wants to share with the world.
2 Hayley De Sola Pinto
Below Deck
As a part of Below Deck season 10, Hayley De Sola Pinto worked well as the third stew of the season, bringing an infectious personality to the charter season. While Hayley may not have been the most high-ranking stew aboard the superyacht, she was quick to work hard and prove that she wanted to be there. Impressing Chief Stew Fraser Olender often, Hayley was a great addition to the crew throughout the charter season.
After her time on Below Deck season 10, Hayley decided to use her skillset in a whole new way. Hard working and dedicated, Hayley became a business owner, dedicating herself to building a medical spa that she could accept clients in and own for herself. Her med spa, Classen Asthetics provides several different services of her high-end clients that allow her to continue serving guests.
1 Dani Soares
Below Deck Sailing Yacht
Dani Soares
As one of the most controversial cast members to ever appear on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Dani Soares was also wonderful when it came to her job as a stew. Dani, who appeared on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2, worked hard to be the best she possibly could aboard Parsifal III. Working beneath Chief Stew Daisy, Dani also had an infamous boatmance with deckhand Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux that resulted in an astounding paternity suit. Dani and Jean-Luc welcomed a child in 2021.
After her time on the show, Dani had a difficult time when she realized she was pregnant. Jean-Luc and Dani had broken up, so things became tough between the pair when Jean-Luc wasn’t certain about their daughters paternity. Ultimately, it came to pass that Jean-Luc was the father, and Dani got to move forward with her life. Currently, she’s doing her best to parent without her fellow Below Deck Sailing Yacht yachtie in the picture, and has become a nurse after the show.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo.
