8 Times The Bachelor Season 29’s Grant Ellis Was The Man Of Everyone’s Dreams During The Bachelorette
Bachelor Nation was thrilled when The Bachelor season 29 announced that Grant Ellis would be the lead of the show because they'd already fallen in love with him when he was a contestant on Jenn Tran's Bachelorette season. Grant, a now-31-year-old day trader from Newark, New Jersey, fell for Jenn, but she said goodbye to him before her hometown dates. However, fans had fallen in love with Grant.
After his elimination, Grant was immediately announced as the lead of The Bachelor season 29, so that women had the opportunity to apply for the show to date him specifically. During Jenn's "Men Tell All" episode, Jesse Palmer announced that, after Grant was revealed to be the Bachelor, over 10,000 more women applied for the show. It's no wonder that so many women wanted to date Grant because there were several times that he proved himself to be the man of everyone's dreams during The Bachelorette season 21.
1 Grant Ellis Shared That He Wants To Be A Husband & A Father
This Is Grant's Biggest Goal In Life
During The Bachelorette season 21, Grant often spoke about how it's his "mission" in life to be a husband and a father. When he finally got the chance to spend some quality one-on-one time with Jenn, (shared in a clip via The Bachelorette Instagram page), he asked her what shaped her into the woman that she is, and then he immediately asked her if he was "too deep." Jenn told him that he wasn't, and she shared some details about her childhood. Grant told her that he respected how she'd made the best of the difficult times in her life.
Grant then said that some day he hopes to have a "super close" family, with children saying, "Daddy's home!," when he comes in with the kids jumping on him. He said that he was ready and on a mission, and then he pulled Jenn closer on the couch to cuddle up with her. In this moment, Grant was the man of everyone's dreams because it's rare to find such a genuine person in the Bachelor franchise. He wasn't on the show to gain social media followers or to become an influencer, but to find true love. Grant's desire to be a husband and a father makes him the perfect Bachelor.
2 Grant Serenaded Jenn Tran During His Bachelorette Limousine Entrance
Grant Is A Wonderful Singer
During Grant's Bachelorette season 21 limousine entrance, (shared in a clip via The Bachelorette Instagram page), he beatboxed while he walked up to her. He then sang a song that he wrote in which he said that they'd make all of the guys jealous when she changed her name to Ellis. When Grant sang this song, he showed that he was down-to-Earth and wasn't trying to be cool. He simply wanted to impress Jenn, and he did it in the best way that he knew how. While some of the men made their entrances all about themselves, Grant started off completely focused on her, and never stopped.
The previews for The Bachelor season 29 show Grant singing and playing the piano as well. It's so romantic that he wants to share his feelings through music. There's something very special about Grant sharing his talent with the women, without any fear or embarrassment. It shows that he has an open heart, and he's willing to show it in order to find the woman who'll be his wife.
3 Grant Agreed To Take Jenn's Last Name
Grant Is Open-Minded & Progressive
During Jenn and Grant's first deep one-on-one conversation on a group date, (shared via the Love To See It TikTok page), Grant again mentioned that Jenn should change her last name to Ellis, calling her Jenn Ellis. However, Jenn said that he should take her last name. Grant immediately said, "Grant Tran," and said that he liked it. Then they laughed when Jenn joked that he didn't look like a Grant Tran. Jenn was so impressed by Grant on this date that she gave him the group date rose.
It was both open-minded and progressive of Grant that he immediately accepted Jenn's suggestion that he take her last name. While another man might've thought that it was too untraditional, Grant embraced it, showing that he wants to be an equal partner in a relationship. He's not macho or chauvinistic in any way. This was refreshing to see, and it really showed that Grant is an exceptional person. Grant is sweet and kind, and he would've done anything to make Jenn happy.
4 Grant & Jenn Had A Romantic First Kiss
Grant Is A True Gentleman
Unlike some Bachelor franchise leads, especially the men, Jenn only kissed one man during her premiere, Sam McKinney. Grant tried to get a kiss from Jenn by challenging her to a game of basketball, and saying that he'd get a kiss if he won, which she agreed to. However, they were interrupted, and the moment passed. Grant proved himself to be a true gentleman by waiting for the right moment to kiss Jenn. They shared their first kiss the following week after some quality one-on-one time together, in private and after a deep conversation. Grant was sweet and romantic, and the kiss was very special.
Hopefully, Grant will continue to be this way during his own Bachelor season. During premiere night, it's always hard to watch the Bachelor going from room to room, kissing so many different women after just one conversation. Although there's nothing wrong with wanting to kiss someone after knowing each other for such a short time, it's much more meaningful when the Bachelor waits for the right moment to share that first kiss. Even if Grant does kiss multiple women on premiere night, he'll surely be respectful about it and make the women feel comfortable and special.
5 Grant Opened Up About His Complicated Relationship With His Dad
Grant Was Unafraid To Express His Feelings
Grant was also a dream man when he was unafraid to express his feelings during The Bachelorette season 21. During Jenn and Grant's one-on-one date, (shared via The Bachelorette Instagram page), he proved himself to be open and honest when he told her about his complicated relationship with his father. During dinner, he shared that his father was an addict for 30 years. He said that the worst part was that he didn't know, and the one person that he trusted the most was always lying.
Grant shared that before he left to film The Bachelorette, his father was fired from his job. However, things turned around when Grant's father called him and told him that he was checking into rehab. Grant said that it was the proudest that he'd ever been of him. At the time Grant filmed the show, his dad had been sober for two months, and they were rebuilding their relationship. Grant said that his mission in life is to be the man that his father wasn't. Grant's vulnerability showed that he was all-in with Jenn, and it was a beautiful moment.
6 Grant Was Romantic With Jenn In The Rain
Grant Didn't Let Anything Spoil Their One-On-One Date
During Jenn and Grant's Bachelorette season 21 one-on-one date, (shared via the Bachelor Nation YouTube channel), they went horseback riding on the beach in Muriwai, North Island, New Zealand. When they were having a picnic on the beach, it started to rain. However, Grant held an umbrella over them, and didn't let the rain ruin the moment. He said in his confessional that life isn't always going to be perfect, but people have to be able to get through the hard times in a relationship.
Grant then told Jenn that she didn't have to be perfect, and that he was going to rock with her no matter what. Grant realized how strong his feelings were for her and that they were growing. Grant's ability to see the bright side of life was so beautiful. He proved that he would be there through not only the good times, but the bad as well, which is so important in a relationship.
7 Grant Was Up For Anything On Group Dates
Grant Is A Lot Of Fun
Throughout The Bachelorette season 21, Grant proved that he was a good sport and up for anything during the group dates. Whether he was trying new foods, participating in a comedy roast, performing in a striptease show, or competing in a rugby game, he was always willing to put himself out there in order to impress Jenn. While some of the other men were hesitant on some of the dates, Grant always jumped in with both feet.
The reason that Grant was so willing to do anything on these group dates is because he has no ego. He doesn't think that he's above anything, and he knows how to let loose and have fun. This is a very attractive quality because it shows that, while he's serious about finding love, he doesn't take himself too seriously. Grant is fun and exciting, and this is just another reason that he's the perfect man.
8 Grant Allowed Himself To Fall For Jenn
Grant Didn't Hold Back When He Felt Himself Falling
After Grant's one-on-one date with Jenn, he told his fellow Bachelorette season 21 contestants that he thought that he was falling for her. Unlike some past contestants who announced their feelings in order to try to make the other men feel insecure or to brag about their connections, Grant genuinely wanted to share how he felt. His openness and willingness to express his feelings made him even more attractive.
Grant is the perfect Bachelor because he doesn't hold back. He really wants to find his wife and the mother of his children, so his heart is open. While many of Jenn's men were closed off and not ready to fully commit to her, Grant was ready to take that next step. Although he wasn't the right man for Jenn, he'd be Mr. Right for so many women. Hopefully, the women on his Bachelor season will be ready for a man like Grant.
Throughout Jenn's Bachelorette season, Grant has proven time and again that he was the perfect choice for the Bachelor. He's kind, fun, and romantic, and he knows exactly what he wants in life. Hopefully, Grant will find the woman of his dreams on The Bachelor season 29, and they'll live happily ever after.
The Bachelor season 29 starring Grant Ellis premieres on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
