David had to pay a dowry which was between $23,000 to $25,000 to Annie’s parents before they could file for a K-1 visa for them to marry in the U.S. Once he came to America with Annie, David began to teach English in Louisville, Kentucky, at a local college. He began working as a teacher at a university, teaching English as a second language. David also worked as a Health Policy Advisor at the Commonwealth of Kentucky as per his LinkedIn.
