A Subtle Detail In Invincible Season 3 Confirms Mark Loves Eve Way More Than He Did Amber
Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for Invincible season 3, episodes 1-4.Invincible season 3 has provided plenty of ups and downs for the show's protagonist, but Mark's relationship with Eve has certainly been a shining light, and one subtle detail proves he loves his new girlfriend way more than Amber. Mark and Amber's romance throughout the first two seasons caused plenty of discussion online, as despite the two having their best interests at heart, fans couldn't help but notice their incompatibility. Despite trying to push through their problems, Mark and Amber eventually broke up in Invincible season 2, and it didn't take long for the protagonist to begin his next relationship.
Having been friends with Eve since high school, the series hinted at the possibility of Mark and Eve getting together in season 2's finale, but it never quite happened. After the traumatic battle with Angstrom Levy, the protagonist needed time to get his head together, and despite his problems only getting more intense during the show's return, Invincible season 3 finally began Mark and Eve's romance. Their chemistry and strong feelings towards one another had been clear to see long before their relationship started, but one scene proved that Mark truly loves Eve, even more so than Amber.
Mark Refuses To Abandon His Date With Eve In Invincible Season 3, Episode 4
The Protagonist Was Willing To Ignore Dropkick & Fightmaster's Request For Help, Despite The Huge Stakes
Despite Invincible season 3 making Mark more villainous than usual, the protagonist is still committed to being a hero and helping others, making his decision to deny Fightmaster and Dropkick's call for help all the more surprising. The first time Mark crossed paths with the duo, they were trying to steal the Declaration of Independence, making his lack of trust understandable. However, even after they explained their reasoning and told Mark he was the only person who could save their version of Earth, he still refused, prompting the twins from the future to force him through their portal.
Choosing to reject Dropkick and Fightmaster's plead for help wasn't an easy decision, nor was it one he made out of spite of their previous actions. Instead, it was a sign of his commitment to Eve, showing how much he loved her. Mark undoubtedly learned from the mistakes he made in his previous relationship, as he constantly lied to Amber and left their dates to do hero work. Despite Eve being much more understanding about his duties, Mark still wanted to stay and show how dedicated he was to being a good boyfriend, hence making such a bold choice.
Naturally, Mark has matured since his last romance, but showing this level of devotion to his relationship is something he never did with Amber, making it clear Eve is the girl Mark is destined to be with.
Mark & Eve Are Already A Better Match Than Mark & Amber
Mark & Eve Both Being Superheroes Makes Them Way More Compatible
While Mark and Amber's romance was unfairly criticized by some fans, there's no doubt they had too many differences to last long term, and season 3 has already proven that Eve is a much better fit for the protagonist. She has constantly been there to listen to his problems and offer advice while understanding exactly what he's going through. In contrast, even after Amber found out Mark was Invincible, it wasn't as easy for her to relate to some of his life-threatening problems, and she struggled to cope while he was off-planet for a lengthy period of time.
Eve, on the other hand, encourages Mark's heroism and understands the reasoning for some of his ruthless actions. Likewise, explaining that what happened to The Immortal in Invincible's future timeline isn't his fault was something that he needed to hear, and proves Eve is a great fit for him. Mark has also been the perfect match for Eve, as he sympathizes with her after she mentions having trouble with her parents, and he supports Eve's decision to pursue an education, rather than dedicating her life purely to superhero work.
Overall, it feels like Mark and Eve can be their true selves around each other and discuss practically anything, something that Mark and Amber had struggled with over the seasons. As a result, it's clear the new couple is meant to be, and their relationship looks like it will only get better with time.
Mark & Eve Are Invincible's Endgame Couple
The Couple Will Have A Big Role Together Throughout The Rest Of Invincible
Mark and Eve's relationship may have just gotten started in Invincible, but they are undoubtedly the show's endgame couple. While they will certainly face some turbulence through Invincible's heavy upcoming arcs, the duo seems destined to be together from start to finish and will have a huge role in the story as a team. Mark will have his own personal battles to overcome, while Eve's journey will also see her run into some solo problems like last season; however, despite the Invincible War and Viltrumite invasion on the horizon, almost nothing can split Mark and Eve apart.

Their love for one another will only grow the more they overcome as a couple, and with Mark and Eve staying together throughout the comics, it seems unlikely the show will change that. While it's unclear exactly how many seasons Invincible will last, Mark and Eve's romance will remain a major factor for the remainder of the show, and watching them fight side-by-side while protecting one another is something audiences can get excited about for years to come.
