After Daredevil: Born Again Season 2's Bullseye Reveal, I'm Convinced Poindexter Will Get His Comics-Accurate Powers In Future Episodes

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Daredevil: Born Again.

Wilson Bethel will be returning as Bullseye in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, and he'll hopefully be getting a new comic-accurate makeover in the MCU. Wilson Bethel first appeared as FBI agent Benjamin Poindexter in Daredevil season 3, where he was soon revealed to actually be a sharp-shooter with psychopathic tendencies, making him the perfect pawn in Wilson Fisk's game. Kingpin's manipulations transformed Poindexter into the bona fide villain, Bullseye, who returned to wreak havoc in Daredevil: Born Again, and will be developed further in the upcoming second season.

Daredevil: Born Again's premiere, "Heaven's Half Hour," opened with Benjamin Poindexter ambushing Matt Murdock, Karen Page and Foggy Nelson at Josie's Bar. Bullseye shockingly killed Foggy Nelson, causing a rift between Murdock and Page and spurring Murdock to retire as Daredevil, though he has since sported the cowl again. Daredevil: Born Again episode 8, "Isle of Joy," revealed it was Vanessa Fisk who hired Bullseye to attack Nelson, Murdock and Page, but Bullseye's story will seemingly develop independently of the Fisks in Daredevil: Born Again season 2.

Even though Daredevil: Born Again season 1 hasn't even finished releasing, season 2 has already begun filming. In exciting new set photos and leaked footage, we've already seen Charlie Cox's returning Matt Murdock sporting a black Daredevil costume, complete with the "DD" emblem from Marvel Comics. We've also seen Matt Murdock and a red-haired Karen Page seemingly in hiding, but new photos (via X) have also confirmed that Wilson Bethel will be returning as Bullseye. In Daredevil: Born Again season 2, however, Bullseye will be getting a much more comic-accurate costume.

Bullseye's new costume in Daredevil: Born Again season 2 includes his target icons, both on his forehead and around his neck, which bear much more similarity to his costume from Marvel Comics. He'll also be kitted out with a veritable arsenal of possible projectiles, and new footage has suggested that some of these will be used during another spar with Daredevil, this time at Fogwell's, the gym that Matt Murdock frequents. The fact that Bullseye is getting a comic-accurate makeover for Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is very exciting, and hints at even more developments.

Daredevil: Born Again Already Teased Bullseye Having Comic-Accurate Superpowers

Bullseye Hasn't Been Given All His Marvel Comics Powers

For the most part, Bullseye's sharp-shooting abilities in the MCU, both in Daredevil season 3 and in Daredevil: Born Again, are very comic-accurate. However, it's his other abilities granted to him by his spinal enhancements that haven't yet been confirmed in live-action. In Marvel Comics, Bullseye's spine was laced with adamantium after Daredevil dropped him from a telephone wire once he'd learned that Bullseye had killed Elektra. The adamantium gave him increased resistance to injury and increased his acrobatic ability, and this could also be the case in the MCU.

Daredevil: Born Again episode 8 gradually transforms Wilson Bethel's Benjamin Poindexter into Bullseye as the villain engages his abilities.

Daredevil season 3's finale saw Kingpin break Bullseye's back during the epic three-way battle between the pair and Daredevil at the Presidential Hotel. While he wasn't enhanced with adamantium, Benjamin Poindexter's spine was reinforced with fictional cognium steel, which may have granted him similar abilities to his Marvel Comics counterpart. Daredevil: Born Again season 1 might have already teased these enhancements, but Born Again season 2 can make the iconic and long-running Daredevil villain even more powerful after his comic-accurate design changes.

Daredevil: Born Again season 1's premiere teased Bullseye's superhuman enhancements, as Daredevil threw him from the roof of Josie's Bar after Foggy Nelson's death, but Benjamin Poindexter survived this fall. He also showed off greater acrobatic skills during his fight against Daredevil, and his ability to slip out of prison with ease after spitting a tooth at a doctor at an extremely high velocity also suggests some sort of superhuman transformation. Despite these hints, Marvel Studios hasn't yet confirmed these changes for Bullseye, but Daredevil: Born Again season 2 has the perfect opportunity.

Marvel Comics' Bullseye's real name is only "Lester," as his last name hasn't been revealed. In Marvel Comics' Ultimate Universe, Bullseye was Benjamin Poindexter, who inspired Daredevil season 3's Bullseye.

Since Daredevil: Born Again season 2's set photos and videos have already proven that both Matt Murdock and Benjamin Poindexter will be looking more comic-accurate, it makes sense that their power-sets could follow suit. Marvel Studios has already reintroduced Daredevil as a more skilled vigilante, and has included him swinging around New York using his billy clubs, so Bullseye could also get this treatment. It would be fantastic for Daredevil: Born Again season 2 to reintroduce Bullseye as a more comic-accurate villain, perhaps setting him up for an even brighter future in the MCU.
