After lots of speculation, Marvel has confirmed a major theory about the Scarlet Witch with the TVA's help

WARNING: Spoilers ahead for Marvel's TVA #3The latest issue of Marvel's TVA seems to confirm a pretty outlandish MCU fan theory about the Scarlet Witch and the TVA. The issue, written by Katharyn Blair, picks up after Mobius's injury in the previous issue. While recovering, the team looks into the details of what happened, and what they uncovered may hold subtle hints about the future of the MCU.

In TVA #3, after the TVA reveals the weapon used against Mobius was a reality shard, Spider-Gwen decides to investigate a secret room in the TVA that she has been seeing in her dreams. After using the codes given to her, she discovers Wanda locked away in a secret lab.

This revelation is more than just a shock for fans of the series; it is also shocking for the MCU. It parallels a similar idea that fans have been theorizing about since Deadpool and Wolverine, and this may provide answers as to how Wanda could return to the MCU.

Is The Scarlet Witch A Prisoner of The TVA?

MCU Fans Seem To Think So

The fan theory linking Wanda to the TVA gained steam after a statue of her appeared in Deadpool and Wolverine. Even though Marvel has officially confirmed her death, fans have speculated that, after the events of Multiverse of Madness, the TVA pruned Wanda in her final moments, seizing her for her crimes and reality-bending abilities.

This theory now feels closer to reality, as the TVA comic suggests that Wanda could be locked away, influencing timelines through her abilities. A similar revelation in the MCU could put Elizabeth Olsen back in the saddle and present a clever solution for Marvel's Kang Problem.

Or Is this Just Clever Fan Service?

While it may not offer full confirmation, the heavy MCU influence on the TVA series makes the possibility of Wanda being a prisoner in the MCU all the more possible. This is especially true since the Wanda Spider-Gwen finds is rocking her classic MCU design. This blending of narrative influence between the comics and the MCU seems to be a very intentional choice by the writers.

Whether the MCU will follow TVA's lead remains to be seen. While it stands as one of many possible explanations for her potential resurrection in the MCU, it is equally possible that these narrative choices are simply fan service meant to foment more wild speculation.

The appearance of Wanda in this issue doesn’t fully confirm the theory but certainly validates the speculation.

TVA #3 blurs the lines between fan speculation and canon confirmation. The appearance of Wanda in this issue doesn’t fully confirm the theory but certainly validates the speculation. This blend of fan service and narrative development may not be a definitive answer, but it gives a satisfying nod to the audience's ideas. Marvel’s acknowledgment of fan theories in this way could be a clever strategy, building anticipation for future crossovers and deepening the connection between comics and films.
