Cross-country skiing isn’t usually known as a particularly hazardous activity–but earlier this month, an aggressive barred owl dive-bombed a skier at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, Maine, scratching his scalp twice. Officials at the farm responded by warning skiers to wear a helmet or carry an umbrella to fend off repeat attacks.
