Arunachal Governor adopts two TB patients under Nikshay Mitra initiative

Itanagar: During a visit to the district hospital in Roing, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik (retd) adopted two tuberculosis (TB) patients from the Lower Dibang Valley district. As part of the Nikshay Mitra initiative, which offers TB patients nutritional, diagnostic, and vocational support, the governor presented food baskets to the patients.

The governor also presented food baskets to the two patients, an official statement from Raj Bhavan said on Monday.

According to the PTI report, interacting with MLAs Mutchu Mithi and Puinnyo Apum and health officials, Parnaik highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's goal to eliminate tuberculosis from the country by 2025, ahead of the global TB-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) target of 2030.

He urged people to unite in supporting this commitment.

Parnaik encouraged officials to promote healthy lifestyles and leverage technology for better analysis and planning.

He also praised the dedication of doctors, nurses and paramedics in driving social reforms within the health centres, news agency PTI reported.

District tuberculosis officer Dr Saga Migri briefed the governor on the district's disease and other health issues, the statement added.

Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda highlighted the key achievements of the Union Health Ministry in the first 100 days of the government at a press conference. Union Ministers of State for Health and Family Welfare, Shri Prataprao Ganpatrao Jadhav and Smt. Anupriya Singh Patel were also present.

The Union Health Minister noted that around Rs.15 lakh crores of investment have been made in the last 100 days with speed and scale across different ministries. He noted that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has launched several key initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery and access in India.
