Boruto Just Made Kawaki More Dangerous Than Ever Thanks to One Sneaky Alliance

The Naruto franchise is no stranger to dangerous and powerful enemies for the heroes to defeat. Still, few of them have reached the same threat level as Kawaki, the Uzumaki Family’s adoptive son who betrayed them after succumbing to his paranoia. Since he was first introduced during the first chapter of the Boruto manga, fans knew he would be a terrifying antagonist one day.

It seems like the time for Kawaki to become the biggest villain in the franchise has finally arrived, thanks to a small but significant moment in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter #18. His fear and anger against Boruto are burning brighter than ever, even after promising his former ally that he would work with him against the Divine Trees. Worst of all, his truce with Amado means he could become an almost unstoppable enemy.

Kawaki’s Hatred for Boruto Has Not Diminished

He Still Wishes To Kill All Otsutsuki No Matter What

During chapter #18 of the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga, Amado is ambushed by Kawaki, who learned recently that the scientist had placed limiters on his offensive abilities. After using the failsafe command to make him go to sleep, Amado took the teenager to a separate room, where they talked about their plans. When asked to implant his Karma into a clone body to bring back Amado’s daughter, Kawaki refused, stating that he did not want to create any other enemies for himself. Shockingly, he also revealed that he still had plans to kill Boruto as soon as possible.

In chapter #15, Boruto and Kawaki had arranged a truce, as they had organized to work together to defeat the strongest villains in the series before fighting against each other. Yet, the conversation the cyborg had with Amado made it clear that he still does not see Naruto’s son as an ally, not even a temporary one. For Kawaki, Boruto is just another target that he needs to eliminate, putting into question how honest his words during chapter #15 were. If given the chance, there is little doubt that he would kill his former friend without a second thought.

Amado Might Give Kawaki More Than Just a Power Boost

The Scientist Knows He Is Vital for His Plans

Despite how determined Kawaki is about killing Boruto, fans are not currently worried about him, as he has been proven on numerous occasions to be far weaker. Chapter #18 implies that this will soon change, as he is about to receive a massive power-up thanks to Amado. The scientist confirmed that he indeed altered his artificial abilities, increasing his defensive and regenerative abilities. He was willing to give Kawaki back his outstanding offensive potential, but only if he agreed to revive his daughter. Seeing as the cyborg refused, Amado will have no other option than to help him stay alive.

This might signify a major issue for Boruto, as the scientist is more than willing to go to any lengths to achieve his dreams. To keep Kawaki safe, Amado might be able to find a way to retain his superhuman defensive abilities while also increasing his fighting prowess. If he finds a way, Boruto will now have an almost unstoppable killing machine ready to destroy him without hesitation. While this might seem impossible now, the series has proven that Amado is by far one of the smartest characters, meaning that if anyone can figure it out, it is him.

Does Boruto Know About Kawaki’s Betrayal?

Kashin Koji Could Have Warned Him About This Outcome

Kashin Koji’s Prescience ability, one of the most powerful God-Level jutsu in the franchise, has been a blessing for Boruto throughout the Two Blue Vortex manga. The protagonist has not only been able to learn all the techniques his future self would have thanks to it, but it has also helped him prevent major tragedies, like his or Kawaki’s deaths. Still, as powerful as this technique is, it is by no means infallible, as stated by Koji himself. There is a high likelihood that Boruto is aware of Kawaki’s betrayal and is simply playing along.

If that is the case, the hero will have a plan prepared in case his brothers attempt to kill him before the Divine Trees are defeated. On the other hand, if Kashin Koji’s ability failed to see this probable future, there is no telling how dangerous Kawaki can be, not only for Boruto but also the entire world. Nevertheless, the protagonist’s demeanor when speaking with his brother indicates that he is not concerned about a possible confrontation, implying that he is indeed aware of the danger Kawaki represents.

While not the most beloved villain in the Naruto franchise, there is no doubt about the impact Kawaki has had over the years. His actions in future chapters of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex will almost certainly decide the future of the story. Whether he decides to work with Boruto or betray him, the ninja world will never be the same after his choice.
