The first major addition is called the Crossroads of the World Collection, which will be released in two parts in March. Firaxis has also mentioned that more collections will come later. In addition to new content for purchase, there will be significant free updates to fix bugs, balance the gameplay, and build on the user interface, so players have a lot to look forward to. The roadmap is just a piece of the huge changes Civilization 7 has to make, so there may be more changes as time goes on.

Civ 7 Content Collections, Leaders, & Civs
What New Civilizations Are Coming?
Civilization 7 will have its post-launch content organized into "Collections," which are themed bundles of new features. The first bundle is called the Crossroads of the World Collection, which comes bundled with the Deluxe and Founders editions of the game and will be released in two parts in March 2025. The first part includes Ada Lovelace as a new leader, along with the civilizations of Carthage and Great Britain, some of the most notable absences in the base game.
In franchise tradition, it's likely that the DLC collections will be available for purchase outside of the Deluxe and Founders editions at a later date.
This update also adds four new Natural Wonders and a free update that features a Natural Wonder Battle event and a new Natural Wonder called the Bermuda Triangle. The second part of the "Crossroads of the World Collection" will be available later in March and will introduce Simón Bolívar as a new leader, along with the addition of Bulgaria and Nepal as civilizations, which are making their debut in the series.
This release also brings more free content, including the Marvelous Mountains event and the Mount Everest Natural Wonder. After that, from April to September, the game will expand even more with the "Right to Rule Collection," available in the Founders Edition, which will add two new leaders, four new civilizations, and four new world wonders. Firaxis is also going to give everyone free updates and events over time so the game keeps feeling fresh throughout 2025.
Free Civ 7 Updates & Events In 2025
Will There Be Free Updates or Events?
The updates for Civilization 7 will fall into two main categories: improvements to the main game and special events. At first, the focus will be on fixing player-reported issues, adjusting game balance, and improving the user interface to improve the game. These updates will happen throughout the year. Additionally, Firaxis will add features that weren't included at launch.
The features will be team-based multiplayer, which will allow up to eight players in multiplayer games. They will also let players pick their starting and ending ages, offer more map types, and introduce hot seat multiplayer. These changes both double down on the reimagining the idea of 4X games and revisit some past concepts that aren't present at launch.
Along with these updates, monthly events and challenges will aim to introduce new gameplay elements and freshen up the Civilization 7 experience. These events will also help test potential new features that might be added to the main game based on what players think. For instance, in March 2025, players can look forward to events like the Natural Wonder Battle and Marvelous Mountains and new natural wonders like the Bermuda Triangle and Mount Everest.
