Colorado Mouse to Remain on Endangered Species List

The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service rejected a petition to remove the Preble's meadow jumping mouse, which is found only in Colorado and Wyoming.

The Preble’s meadow jumping mouse, found only in Colorado and Wyoming, will remain on the Endangered Species list, announced the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service this week. A group of homebuilders and ranchers had petitioned for its removal, arguing that it is not a distinct subspecies worthy of protection.
