Colorado's Camp Hale Could Be 1st National Historic Landscape

The WWII military training camp in Eagle County is part of a larger wilderness expansion bill.

Camp Hale, the site of a historic military base in Eagle County where troops trained for alpine action in WWII, could become the nation’s first National Historic Landscape if a new bill makes it through Congress. The bill, introduced by Senator Michael Bennet (D-Colorado) and Rep. Jared Polis (D-Boulder), would also expand wilderness protections along the Continental Divide.
