Dan Stevens' Evan Green Is Easy To Hate, But I Felt Bad For Him By The End Of Zero Day

Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Zero Day!

Dan Stevens' Evan Green is one of the most hateable characters in Zero Day, but I actually ended up feeling bad for him by the end of the series. There are very few good people in the story of Zero Day, with almost all of the politicians and governmental figures featured throughout the Netflix miniseries having their own selfish motives. However, Evan Green instantly comes off as one of the most unlikable members of the cast of Zero Day, but this gets turned on its head by the end of his time in the show.

Netflix's Zero Day has finally been released, with all six episodes of the miniseries now streaming. The show follows former President of the United States George Mullen (Robert De Niro), with him being brought back into the spotlight after a devastating cyber security attack destabilizes the country. Known as the Zero Day Attack, George Mullen is placed as the head of the Zero Day Commission, a task force designed to uncover who was behind the attack. Throughout Zero Day, George Mullen goes down several incorrect paths, with the Even Green one being one of the most significant.

Dan Stevens' Evan Green Is A Rage-Baiting TV Personality In Zero Day

Making Him Instantly Unlikable

Unlike most of the other Zero Day cast members, Dan Stevens' Evan Green is not a career politician. Instead, Green is a TV personality, with him hosting a show where he commentates on politics. As a talking head, Evan Green often goes after George Mullen as well as the entire Zero Day Commission, with him being against Mullen's increasingly authoritarian moves in response to the Zero Day Commission. Dan Stevens' Zero Day character clearly draws some parallels with real-life rage-baiting TV personalities, instantly making him fairly unlikable.

Was Evan Green Involved In The Zero Day Attack?

He Was Entirely Framed

Evan Green quickly became one of the main suspects in the Zero Day Attack after some photos were found of him with several other key figures in the investigation. This led to George Mullen having Evan Green arrested in the middle of the night, with this being a highly controversial move by the Zero Day Commission. Eventually, it is revealed that Green had nothing to do with the attack, with the photos being doctored by Robert Lyndon in order to get Green off of his back.

I Feel Bad For How Evan Green Was Treated

He Was A Victim Throughout The Show

Although Evan Green is still a rage-baiting TV personality, he was right about a lot of the conspirators in the Zero Day Attack. On top of that, Evan Green was framed and arrested for being right, with his name being smeared for seemingly no reason. Evan Green is undeniably a victim throughout Zero Day, making him a surprisingly tragic character.
