Daredevil: Born Again's Trailer Broke A Major MCU Record & The Marvel Series Has Another Exciting Record In Its Sights

Daredevil: Born Again is already a record-breaker for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the anticipated series can continue that in the near future. Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock is one of Marvel's most beloved live-action heroes ever. After a creative overhaul, Daredevil: Born Again's story and tone will be much closer to that of the original Netflix series that starred Cox as the blind vigilante. Since Daredevil is still one of Marvel's best series, if not the best, to this day, it was great news.

After a long wait, Marvel Studios finally released the first trailer for Daredevil: Born Again. The footage teased how Kingpin and Daredevil's paths cross yet again, with exciting character returns — Bullseye, the Punisher, and more — and plenty of brutal action like the Netflix show. Daredevil: Born Again's cast and story could lead to it becoming the best Marvel Studios series on Disney+. Even if that does not end up happening, the show has managed to break a surprising record and has an even bigger one in its sights.

Daredevil: Born Again’s Trailer Has The Shortest Gap To A Marvel Studios Live-Action TV Show’s Release

The Wait Was More Than Worth It

While footage from the show was shared at private events, such as San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios chose to hold on to the Daredevil: Born Again trailer for a long time. This led to a major Marvel record being broken by the MCU series. As noted by The Direct, Daredevil: Born Again's trailer has the shortest gap to a live-action MCU show's release. The first trailer for the highly-anticipated Marvel series was released only 48 days before the show's release date of March 4.

Daredevil: Born Again season 1

48 days

This made Daredevil: Born Again beat the second MCU show on that list by a comfortable margin. The two closest Marvel series on Disney+ after Charlie Cox's upcoming Daredevil return are Loki season 2 (66 days) and Echo (67 days). Marvel's latest live-action series was Agatha All Along, which had its first trailer released 72 days before the show's premiere. The wait for Daredevil: Born Again's trailer could have stemmed from two factors. Marvel might have wanted to keep secrets for as long as possible or decided to focus on 2024's Agatha All Along and What If...? season 3.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Could Break An Exciting Marvel Studios Record

The Marvel Series Has Already Been Renewed

Daredevil: Born Again is part of Marvel's new initiative for TV shows. After an internal restructuring, the studio plans to do more multi-season shows instead of limited series. Daredevil: Born Again has already been renewed for season 2, and Charlie Cox recently revealed that the next season will start filming before season 1 even premieres. This could mean that season 2 might arrive next year, which would be a first for Marvel Studios shows, as the shortest gap between seasons has been two years for Loki and What If...?, which gives Daredevil: Born Again a chance to break that record.
