Daredevil Is Bringing Back His Most Controversial Suit: Here's Why
It's been gone for some time, but Daredevil is actually bringing back one of his most controversial looks just in time for a brand-new adventure. Matt Murdock is almost done dealing with a batch of demons straight from the pits of Hell, but a new threat's going to require Daredevil to pull out an old look.
Marvel Comics has given fans a look at what lies ahead later this year with its batch of April solicitations. Among the numerous goodies waiting for Marvel fans that month (such as Godzilla vs. Spider-Man), Daredevil fans got a real shock at what's set for him in the springtime.
This April will see the release of Daredevil #20 by Saladin Ahmed and José Luis Soares. Aside from his old flame, Nyla Skin, returning, a new threat has made itself known and the only way Matt can face it is by once again donning his classic 'armored Daredevil' costume.

What Could Require The Protection Of This Controversial Outfit?
Every hero has at least one outfit that will have even the most dedicated fan cracking a grin. In Matt's case, he debuted a different look in Daredevil #321 as part of the "Fall from Grace" storyline. Daredevil's costume was destroyed in an altercation, so he decides to get a new one with a few improvements. Unlike his traditional costume, this outfit is black with red accents and silver padding on his shoulders and legs. While it offered him more protection than his usual costume, Matt only hung onto this outfit a while before returning to his standard Daredevil look.
The solicitation doesn't clarify who Matt is going to be fighting in Daredevil #20, only saying they're a new enemy. Whoever they are, they must be pretty powerful if they're forcing Daredevil to bring this costume back. Of course, this could just be caution on Matt's part. He's been fighting the Seven Deadly Sins, and his experience with Wrath showed him how ill-equipped his suit is when taking on more powerful enemies. It's likely that Matt thinks he's going to be fighting something dangerous and Daredevil needs a costume that can stand up to something stronger than his usual foes.

Laugh at His Costume, But Daredevil Needs All the Protection He Can Get
Daredevil is used to risking his life, but at the end of the day, he's just a man. While his desire to help and protect might push him to punch above his weight class, he has to be smart about that. His usual costume might hold up to knives or even guns, but the armored Daredevil suit lets him take on even greater threats. Whether it's another demon that's come to Hell's Kitchen or something worse, Daredevil's going to be ready because he's got armor that can keep him safe from the most dangerous of enemies.
Daredevil #20 is available on April 9th from Marvel Comics.
