Demon Slayer'sdemons are some of the most menacing villains in anime; but not one is more terrifying than Lord Muzan, the progenitor of demons himself. With thousands of kills over the thousand years he has been alive, it may seem like Muzan is virtually undefeatable, but one demon slayer could shatter Muzan's legacy in an instant.

Unfortunately, the one demon slayer who could easily obliterate Muzan died long before he got the chance. However, had this character become a demon too, he would not only have been stronger than Muzan could ever hope to be, but capable of taking down the evildoer once and for all.

Yoriichi Tsugikuni Could Have Been a Demon That Would Rival Muzan

He Invented Breathing Styles and Was Considered the Strongest Demon Slayer to Ever Live

Ironically, no one would make a better demon than the heroic Yoriichi Tsugikuni, the first ever demon slayer. Without Yoriichi, the Demon Slayer Corps might not have existed, and demons would have continued to run rampant, ending lives, so he is rightfully well respected for his valiant efforts to protect humanity until his dying breath. Yoriichi dedicated every moment of his existence to slaying demons. Even though it caused his death, he completed the task better than anyone else, racking up hundreds of kills. Not only was he an accomplished vanquisher of demons who helped form the Demon Slayer Corps, he invented Breathing Styles.

The concept of a Breathing Style was non-existent before Yoriichi, adding another admirable component to his legacy. Sun Breathing, which would later be utilized by Tanjiro, was even invented by Yoriichi. This accomplishment is just another sign of how advanced Yoriichi was as a demon slayer, and the list of his achievements does not end here. He is canonically regarded as the strongest demon slayer ever, and even simply hearing his name was enough to cause the majority of demons to quake in terror, because they knew they stood no chance against him.

Yoriichi Already Almost Killed Muzan During His Life as a Human

Becoming a Demon Would Give Yoriichi the Extra Boost Needed To Finish the Job

In a demon form, all of Yoriichi's already incredible abilities would only be heightened, giving him limitless potential. He is physically mighty and muscular, and since his Breathing Style is so effective against enemies, his Blood Demon Art would likely be similar, or even better. Finally, the most compelling proof that Yoriichi would be the strongest demon of all time is the fact that he almost killed Muzan. Other than Tanjiro, no one else has brought Muzan as close to the brink of death as Yoriichi once did, and demon powers would certainly give him the extra push needed to kill the villain.

Until Tanjiro and the other demon slayers' final battle with him, no one else could even bring Muzan out of hiding. But Yoriichi managed to catch the villain, and the fight between the two adversaries was a close match. Muzan only survived because he sneakily broke his own body into fragments to make it more difficult for Yoriichi to cut through every piece. Yoriichi almost sliced through them all, but before he could achieve victory, Muzan ran away. Sadly, Yoriichi was never able to encounter the demon again and have a rematch, which he surely would have won.

If He Was a Demon, Yoriichi Never Would Have Died Fighting Michikatsu Either

As a Human, He Could Keep Up With the Deadliest Demons, so a Demon Form Would Make Him Unstoppable

Yoriichi's twin brother, Michikatsu, also known as the demon Kokushibo, killed him before he could battle Muzan again, and the last fight between them was unpredictable. Even though Michikatsu was a demon, Yoriichi still almost killed him, which is a shock because, in general, demons are much stronger than humans. Most humans in Demon Slayer have to train for years and complete grueling challenges in order to prepare to take on demons, because the creatures are naturally much more powerful than the average human in every way. But as just a human, Yoriichi was on the same level as most demons, including Muzan.

The abilities and enhanced physical state that comes with a demon transformation could have been the key Yoriichi needed to finally beat Muzan. If Yoriichi was a demon, Muzan would not have stood a chance, because Yoriichi was already on the villain's level as a human without the advantages of being a demon. Yoriichi also likely would have survived his fight with Michikatsu as a demon, because he nearly won as just a human. The strong Demon Slayer character was on the verge of becoming unstoppable, and a demon form would have made Yoriichi mightier than any human or demon, Muzan included.
