Demon Slayer Needs a Live-Action Movie ASAP And Its Newest Promo Shows Why

Demon Slayer's Infinity Castle film trilogy is on the way, with the first film set to release in 2025. To create excitement for the rapidly approaching movies, the @kimetsu_stage X account has posted a promotional poster photo featuring the series' most terrifying Upper Rank Demons, in an advertisement for a 2025 Demon Slayer stage play in Japan.

The image proves the series would work phenomenally well in live-action, because the demons look just as petrifying in real-life as they do in an animated format. The characters featured in the poster are the main villains of the Infinity Castle trilogy; the Upper Rank Three, Akaza, the Upper Rank Two, Doma, and the Upper Rank One, Kokushibo, as well as Lord Muzan, the Demon King.

Stage Play Poster Features Demon Slayer’s Upper Rank Demons in All Their Glory

Main Characters of the Trilogy; Akaza, Doma, Kokushibo, and Muzan Make Appearances in the Image

The background of the image is the Infinity Castle itself, which is where the battles in the trilogy between humans and demons take place. At the end of the To the Hashira Training arc, the demon slayers fell into the elaborate fortress one by one, preparing themselves for the fights ahead. Not only does this image include this sneak peek at where the films will take place, it shows off four crucial characters that will play major antagonistic roles in the last few arcs of Demon Slayer: the Upper Rank demons, and Lord Muzan, who creates and controls all demons.

The top three Upper Rank demons stand in the middle of the image in a group, glaring menacingly into the camera. Kokushibo, the highest ranked demon other than Muzan, is at the forefront, wearing his trademark purple and black kimono. The Kokushibo cosplayer captured every detail of the iconic demon's look, from his long black hair to his multiple sets of red and yellow eyes. Since he is the top member of the Twelve Kizuki, Kokushibo is utterly frightening, and his appearance in this look shows that. Next to him is Doma, the deceptively charming Upper Rank Two demon.

Each Upper Rank Demon Is Terrifying in Their Own Way, With Looks That Include Important Details

From Akaza’s Demon Markings to Kokushibo’s Sets of Eyes, the Demons Are Recreated Accurately

Doma has flowing blonde hair, long purple nails, and a red shirt and gray striped pants, accessorized with a black dripping design that looks creepily similar to blood. Although Doma acts friendly and often wears a smile, beneath the surface, he is just as twisted as the other demons and eager to consume human flesh. Behind Doma looms Akaza, the Upper Rank three demon. The cosplayer's short spiky pink hair, pink vest, white pants, and black striped markings make it obvious who they are emulating with their costume, portraying the true terror of the third-ranked demon in Demon Slayer.

Finally, Muzan appears at the edge of the image. Only half of his face is visible to viewers, which only increases the mystery surrounding this secretive Demon King. One of Muzan's piercing red eyes stares down the camera, giving onlookers a glimpse into just how evil and calculated the mastermind really is. Not only is the image impressive on its own, it offers a look at a real-life stage show inspired by Demon Slayer that fans can go watch in Japan this spring. The stage play will feature familiar characters acting out iconic scenes from the manga.
