Heading to their site and getting a key for the upcoming launch will give players a 16% discount, even on the premium edition.
Doom: The Dark Ages Breathes New Life Into The Franchise
A Plethora Of New Features Are Coming
The DOOM franchise has been around for ages, having been first developed in the '90s. Since that time, the titles have seen more and more features added, and mechanics being changed, all while keeping the initial premise of the game the same; killing everything in sight with no remorse. Taking on horde after horde of hellspawn, players use a few select weapons to inflict as much damage and create as much carnage as possible.
The developers wanted to create not only the largest DOOM game to date but also implement new and exciting features they hope fans will enjoy. A new mech suit, known as the Atlan, has been introduced as a way to become 30 stories tall and fight massive demons the size of skyscrapers. A horrific fire-breathing dragon has also been featured in their videos, as well as during the Developer Direct stream, showing the player soaring through the skies to reach floating islands.
What To Expect From Doom: The Dark Ages
New Weapons, A Massive World, But No Multiplayer
There are several new things to get excited about for the upcoming release of DOOM: The Dark Ages. Not only do players get to pilot the Atlan and Dragon, but several new weapons bring a whole new meaning to brutality. An Iron Flail, Electrified Gauntlet, and Spiked Mace give players the option to use melee rather than just run and gun like they are used to. Of course, there will be guns, as it is still DOOM. These guns are mean torture machines built to bunch, impale, and shred demons to bits, according to the developers.
With a new difficulty system and the ability to tailor the combat to your liking with the use of sliders, DOOM has never been more approachable for beginners. DOOM: The Dark Ages is set for release on May 15, bringing the hectic, heart-pumping, bloody combat to the forefront once again.
