A man died in the Pisgah National Forest waterfall last Sunday, but currents have prevented officials from recovering his body.

Rescuers continued to search for the body of a man who drowned in Elk River Falls in the Pisgah National Forest last Sunday. The man was walking near the falls when he fell into deep water; the water was up to 4 feet above normal levels. The trail remained closed during the search.
