Every Video Game Release Date (March 2025)
March is yet another phenomenal month for video games in 2025, with a lot of incredible RPGs, like the much-anticipated and many times delayed Assassin's Creed Shadows, coming out. From the return of an iconic JRPG, the launch of a brand-new Fallout-esque RPG, and, of course, Ubisoft's much-discussed open-world extravaganza, there's more than enough in March to keep players entertained. Of course, there are also plenty of indies and Early Access titles launching for PC and other platforms that those bored with AAA games will enjoy.
Naturally, people may still be playing February's many incredible games, including the huge Monster Hunter Wilds that dropped at the end of the month. However, while they're great, they may be worth putting down to pick up March's best offerings. Fortunately, a lot of the bigger games are launching towards the end of the month, ensuring that people have more than enough time to roll credits on some of 2025's best games before jumping into them.
Assassin's Creed Shadows Will Dominate March
It's The Biggest RPG Of The Month
Assassin's Creed Shadows is undeniably March's highest-profile game, coming from acclaimed yet often divisive developer Ubisoft. AC Shadows was delayed twice, seeing its release date being pushed all the way back to March 20, which is when it is now actually expected to be released. It's unlikely it'll be delayed again, especially as copies of Shadows have leaked to the public as third-party retailers have released a handful of copies far too early. Luckily, while the delays were frustrating, they allowed the developers to make it as great as possible, with Ubisoft reassuring fans that they were worthwhile.
Despite Assassin's Creed Shadows' controversies detracting from its overall hype, many are still nevertheless anticipating it, especially as those who pre-order the game get a free 10-hour expansion that adds a whole new area. Fortunately, for those who are tired of Ubisoft's style of open-world - which, notably, it is reportedly ditching in favor of a less handholdy experience - there are still plenty of incredible RPGs and other high-profile titles that will surely be entertaining.
March Is The Month Of RPGs
Atomfall, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition & More
One of the most surprising games of March 2025 is Rebellion's first-person Fallout-esque RPG, Atomfall, which emphasises player choice, non-linear storytelling, and survival mechanics. It's not quite an open-world game, but its open areas are designed to be rich with detail and things for players to do. In Atomfall, players will need to uncover the fictionalized mysteries behind the Windscale disaster in an alternate history version of England in the 50s. With characters to meet, factions to join, enemies to fight or subdue, and numerous endings to unlock, Atomfall has the potential to be one of March's best games.

The Wii U Is Officially Dead Thanks To Xenoblade Chronicles X, But Nintendo Fans Shouldn't Worry Thanks To The Switch 2
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition may have killed the Wii U, but it isn’t that big of a deal, especially thanks to one Switch 2 feature.
For those who prefer JRPGs, March is playing host to the remaster of Xenoblade Chronicles X, one of the best Wii U games ever released. It's a sprawling open-world RPG with a customizable protagonist, giant mechs, and a thoroughly engrossing narrative. Fortunately for those who've never played a Xenoblade game before, Xenoblade Chronicles X is a completely standalone adventure. This Definitive Edition comes with many much-needed changes to exploration, combat, and visuals, as well as a brand-new story that caps off the ending of the game.
