Fame Hasn't Helped NH Fish and Game

Popularity of series hasn't helped recruitment efforts

The television series “North Woods Law: New Hampshire” on the Animal Planet network has brought a lot of attention to the New Hampshire Fish and Game state department. Officials, however, say they are still struggling to recruit new officers. They had hoped the program would help fill their ranks, but instead, their personnel budget has shrunk and they still have open positions to fill. The department’s chief of law enforcement says its partly because good officers are hard to come by, and that NH Fish and Game officers are aggressively recruited away by other agencies.
