Fans Of Netflix's Carry-On Will Be Happy To Hear About Taron Egerton's Next Two Movies
Viewers who enjoyed Netflix's thriller movie Carry-On have several upcoming Taron Egerton films and a brand-new television series to look forward to. Egerton leads the cast of Carry-On alongside Jason Bateman (Ozark), Sofia Carson (Descendants), Danielle Deadwyler (The Piano Lesson), and Theo Rossi (The Penguin). Carry-On received a Rotten Tomatoes score of 88% and has remained one of the top movies on Netflix since it was released on the streaming platform on December 13, 2024.
Carry-On was directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Unknown, Orphan) based on a screenplay written by T.J. Fixman (Ratchet & Clank). It follows Egerton's protagonist Ethan Kopek, a young TSA agent who is blackmailed by a mysterious traveler (Bateman) into letting a dangerous package slip through securtiy and onto a crowded flight on Christmas Eve. Egerton, who is best known for his roles in the Kingsman spy action films and the Elton John biopic Rocketman, hasn't starred in a feature film since 2023's Tetris.

She Rides Shotgun and the Apex movie with Charlize Theron
Egerton plans to extend his streak of action thrillers with the upcoming feature film releases, She Rides Shotgun and the Apex movie with Charlize Theron. Directed by Nick Rowland (Calm with Horses), She Rides Shotgun is an adaptation of Jordan Harper's award-winning novel of the same name. It follows a girl marked for death who must fight and steal to stay alive, learning from her father. Egerton plays Nate and leads a cast that also includes John Carroll, David Lyons, Rob Yang, and Odessa A'zion.
Apex is an upcoming action thriller directed by Baltasar Kormákur (2 Guns) and written by Jeremy Robbins (The Purge). Apex follows an adrenaline junkie who sets out to conquer a menacing river only to discover that there are more threats out for blood than nature alone. Egerton is also attached to the upcoming Kingman sequel, Kingsman: The Blue Blood, from writer/director Matthew Vaughn, which will see the return of Colin Firth as Harry Hart as well as Egerton as Gary "Eggsy" Unwin.
Taron Egerton Is Also Starring In An Upcoming Apple TV+ Crime Show
Firebug alongside Jurnee Smollett and John Leguizamo
Carry-Onfans can also look forward to catching Egerton star in the upcoming crime drama series Firebug alongside Jurnee Smollett and John Leguizamo. Created by novelist and screenwriter Dennis Lehane (Mystic River, Shutter Island, Black Bird), the series will follow a troubled detective and an enigmatic arson investigator who follow in the footsteps of two serial arsonists. While the series does not have an official release date at the time of writing, it is expected to be released sometime in 2025 and will run for nine episodes in its first season exclusively on Apple TV+.
