Fantastic Four Is Poised For the Perfect Anime Crossover, And I Need It ASAP

Out of all of Marvel’s major properties, one of the best for crossovers is undoubtedly Fantastic Four. The titular team’s interstellar, transdimensional, and otherwise scientific adventures always give them perfect justifications for crossovers both in and out of Marvel, and over their decades-long history, it’s happened countless times and made way for just as many great stories.

Fantastic Four is always good for crossovers, and now’s an especially good time for that. The inclusion of the Fantastic Four in Marvel Rivals has pushed the team into the consciousness of the general public for the first time in years, and while that’s great on its own, the specific way the Fantastic Four have been used in Marvel Rivals has had fans thinking about how great they would be for a very specific anime crossover. Whether anything will come of that is unknown at this time, but with all the possibilities available, it’s great to think about, regardless.

Why Marvel & Anime Fans Are Asking For A Fantastic Four & One Piece Crossover

The Overlap Between Fantastic Four & One Piece Explained

In recent weeks, Marvel and anime fans alike have been pushing for a crossover between Fantastic Four and One Piece, and it’s easy to see why. Mister Fantastic was recently added to Marvel Rivals, and ever since then, people have noted how similar his fighting style is to Luffy’s, with his ultimate attack even making his upper body inflate similarly to Gear 4. Whether that was intentional or just a coincidence is unknown, but regardless, Mister Fantastic's depiction in Marvel Rivals having blatant similarities to Luffyhas sparked major interest in a potential crossover between Fantastic Four and One Piece.

As odd as a crossover between Fantastic Four and One Piece would be, it wouldn’t be the first time comics have had crossovers with Japanese properties. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles recently started a crossover with Naruto, for example, and Marvel and DC alike have had numerous crossovers with Godzilla over the years, with a new crossover between Fantastic Four and Godzillaeven set to start this upcoming March. The long history of crossovers between Western comics and Japanese properties perfectly justifies a crossover between Fantastic Four and One Piece, and overall, that would be great to see.

How A Fantastic Four & One Piece Crossover Would Work

A crossover between Fantastic Four and One Piece would be great to see, and it would be easy enough to pull off. The Fantastic Four are always going on adventures that take them to other worlds and realities, so a Fantastic Four and One Piece crossover could start with the Fantastic Four ending up in the world of One Piece while on an adventure of some sort, with other heroes and villains inevitably coming along for the ride. It’s a simple excuse for a crossover, and the differing aesthetics of both worlds would certainly make way for interesting story potential.

Another route crossovers take is having two stories exist within the same universe from the start, and while the cast of One Piece wouldn’t fit in with the Marvel universe, a crossover between Fantastic Four and One Piece could work by reworking Fantastic Four characters to fit into the world of One Piece, with the titular team likely teaming up with the Straw Hats to fight Doctor Doom on the island of Latveria. Whatever the case, any sort of crossover between Fantastic Four and One Piece would be great to see, and with any luck, it might come to fruition.
