Explore the wooded coastline of Resurrection Bay—and picnic on a small, rocky beach—during this picturesque, 6.5-mile paddle in Seward. From Lowell Point, just south of Seward, paddle south through the finger-shaped bay. Glacier-scraped peaks rise from the shore on every side, often wreathed in cloud. After 1.1 miles, Tonsina Creek flows into the bay on the right. Steer your boat to the confluence, and if the water levels are high enough, paddle up the creek for a half-mile out-and-back. Next, continue paddling south another 1.8 miles to a small beach tucked between steep, wooded hillsides. Park your kayak and enjoy the views. Follow the same route back.
