Georgie & Mandy’s divorce is set in stone by Big Bang Theory’s canon and Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage episode 12 teased what can generate such an outcome. Despite the various external issues plaguing Georgie and Mandy’s relationship, the two have been closer than ever in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, managing to handle warring mothers-in-law, work disagreements among family members and Georgie and Mandy’s imposing age gap. Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage will nevertheless have to introduce the one problem the couple cannot solve that will eventually bring upon their divorce, no matter how much they love one another.

Mandy’s opportunity could have gotten her back into her old career, making it sensible to be well prepared for it. However, the lead-up to Mandy finally getting back into the studio also highlighted how worried Mandy was about returning to her field, because of what her success or failure could have meant. Mandy failing her cover of Heather’s shift could have meant continuing to serve tables. However, succeeding could be just as problematic, as moving to a bigger city like Dallas or Houston for Mandy’s career came with its problems, like Georgie disagreeing and moving CeeCee away from her grandparents.

While the cover seemingly went on without major problems, how Mandy reacted to everything regarding it showed a mix of insecurity and willingness to do everything she could to get back to that, making her professional situation a sensitive topic for Mandy.

Mandy’s insecurities could easily lead to Mandy and Georgie’s divorce down the road. Mandy has already shown to be particularly competitive with Georgie, and not being able to sell supplements in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage episode 8 enraged her, as Mandy saw herself as less than with Georgie making selling something look so effortless, when she found it so difficult to connect with her customers.
Georgie’s boasts about becoming rich were never taken seriously in Young Sheldon, but his entrepreneurial acumen in First Marriage made them more likely to become a reality, as Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage showed how driven Georgie also is on making a business thrive, not only becoming rich.
The Big Bang Theory already established that Georgie becomes rich, making his success potentially a problem between Mandy and Georgie instead of a reason for happiness if Mandy were to focus on comparing her lack of success to Georgie’s astounding one. Georgie supported Mandy trying to restart her career unwaveringly, but that support could decrease if Mandy only focuses on her career needing to grow, without thinking about what Georgie might want or need to lead his business or the family’s business to success, making this the unreconcilable diversion to bring upon their divorce in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
