Ben Lomand, California, resident Tom Hogye is spearheading an effort to “adopt” the neglected Sycamore Grove Nature Area in Santa Cruz. The city-owned park has been plagued by drug use and major trash buildup for years. Hogye, a fly-fisherman, was inspired to help clean up after noticing the threats the litter posed to area waterways.
