Genshin Impact 5.4 Is Adding A Much-Needed Weapon Feature, Four Years Later
A new weapon feature is being added to Genshin Impact with Version 5.4, even if it will occur four years after the game’s original release in 2020. Version 5.4 is the next big update for HoYoverse’s action RPG and, as confirmed by the developer, it will steer a bit away from the main Natlan story, as the conclusion to the main arc arrived with Version 5.3. Instead, players will return to the region of Inazuma for a flagship event, where they will meet the new character Yumemizuki Mizuki in Genshin Impact and take part in various activities.
This flagship event will also reward players with an exclusive free 4-star polearm with a unique design – and there shouldn’t be another way of obtaining it after the event is over. Other events are also planned for the upcoming patch, including a battle tower event that should test players’ abilities in combat. In addition to the activities they will be able to partake in, players should also be able to experience a series of quality-of-life updates, including a new weapon filter in Genshin Impact 5.4, which has also been confirmed by HoYoverse.
Weapon Refinement Will Get An Auto Add Button In Genshin Impact 5.4
Players Can Quickly Refine Weapons With The Update
Aside from the aforementioned weapon filter, which should help accelerate the speed at which character builds are made, another quality-of-life update targeting weapons will also be added. According to details provided by HoYoverse during the most recent Developers Discussion, which was shared in a post on HoYoLAB, players will be able to refine weapons in a much more simplified manner than what is currently available. In Genshin Impact 5.4, a new “Auto Add” button will be added to the weapon refinement feature, which should also quicken the pace at which the weapon is enhanced.
As seen in the post, players will be able to click on the new button and automatically fill in all the slots with the same weapon to refine it, provided that they have extra copies. The short video in the post shows the 5-star sword Absolution being refined. When clicking on the “Auto Add” button, the game asks if the spare Absolution swords (which are 5-star and, as such, locked by default) should be unlocked for the process. Upon confirming, the weapons are unlocked, and the player concludes the refinement of Clorinde’s best weapon in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact 5.4’s New Weapon Update Should Improve Player Experience
Since Launch, Players Have To Manually Add Each Refinement Weapon
While the post uses Absolution as an example, this feature will be added across all weapons in the game – not only will this apply to weapons that are refined with copies of the same weapon, but also event weapons that tend to be refined with specific refinement materials. Overall, this is not a huge or game-changing update, but a much-needed quality-of-life tweak that has long been needed. Since the game’s release, players have to manually select each weapon, individually, and add them to the refinement list in Genshin Impact.
If they are locked, players also have to manually unlock each of them to be able to refine a weapon. This is a simple update that should make the experience of refining weapons a lot easier, smoother, and quicker. These types of convenient tweaks have been under HoYoverse’s radar for quite some time now and, hopefully, Genshin Impact continues to receive these updates to enhance the user experience.
