Genshin Impact 5.4 Leaks: Arlecchino May Get A Long-Needed Buff Months After Her Release
A new Genshin Impact 5.4 leak has shown that Arlecchino may receive a long-needed buff, several months after her initial release. At the moment, the action RPG is at the very start of Version 5.3, but the beta tests for Version 5.4 have commenced and, with them, a lot of information is starting to get leaked as a consequence. There have already been a few reports about the upcoming content, including details on the new character Mizuki’s kit in Genshin Impact 5.4, which says she will be a 5-star Anemo character wielding a catalyst in combat.
In terms of new content, there have also been reports of some of the events in the patch, such as a battle-centered tower event with over 100 stages, as well as an event that may give a new F2P (free-to-play) 4-star polearm. Based on the stats that were leaked so far, this rumored free event weapon in Genshin Impact 5.4 will not be as good as expected, however. In addition to new content, developer HoYoverse seems to be planning some quality-of-life updates, as indicated by leaks, and one of them may affect Arlecchino.

A Scythe May Appear Over The Character Starting With The Next Update
According to footage provided by the leaker known as Firefly News, which was then shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Reddit, Arlecchino will get a new visual effect upon entering the field. The leaked video shows players using Yumemizuki Mizuki and then swapping to Arlecchino in the team comp. Once the 5-star Pyro unit enters, the image of a scythe blade, which resembles her signature weapon, appears above her head.
The leak does not specify exactly what this new visual buff serves for and what the animation represents. Still, it is possible to speculate that it is tied in with the main mechanic in Arlecchino’s kit. If the leaked footage about Arlecchino’s visual buff is true, this scythe animation could be a way of indicating that the character has enough Bond of Life to trigger Masque of Red Death. When using Arlecchino in Genshin Impact, the rotation consists of triggering Masque of Red Death with Bond of Life to convert her Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks to deal Pyro DMG.

The Animation Could Be A Tracker For Her Masque Of Red Death (Bond Of Life Percentual)
For reference, Arlecchino needs to have Bond of Life equal to or greater than 30% of her Max HP to enter the Masque of Red Death state. With the game’s frenetic rotations, it’s possible to lose track of how much Bond of Life she has and, therefore, be unaware if she is dealing Pyro DMG through her regular attacks. The introduction of an animation to show that she still has enough Bond of Life for the Masque of Red Death mechanic is a useful mechanic and, hopefully, the leaked visual asset for her is precisely that.
For players with complicated rotations, it’d be great to have Arlecchino enter the field letting them know if they can continue attacking or if they need to use her Elemental Skill – an ability that can be held onto thanks to its long cooldown when her Burst is not available. For now, this leak should be taken with a grain of salt, as the footage may be incorrect or subject to change. Furthermore, the animation may not truly represent her Masque of Red Death state, but more should be leaked over the course of the Genshin Impact 5.4 beta tests.
