Genshin Impact 5.5 Leaks: Iansan Materials Can Already Be Farmed, But There's Bad News About Her Talent Books
Most of Iansan’s materials in Genshin Impact 5.5 have leaked, revealing that players interested in adding her to their roster may start their pre-farming efforts so as to ensure she can quickly be Ascended and leveled to 90 once she is obtained. Iansan is an iconic character from the region of Natlan who has already been presented as an NPC in the main story quests set in the Nation of Pyro. She is one of the many heroes of Natlan and a member of the Collective of Plenty tribe, which has yet to be introduced to Genshin Impact.
Even though she was presented as an NPC months ago, Iansan has not yet become playable, but rumors indicate she will be released in Version 5.5, alongside the arrival of Varesa. The leaks about Iansan are still scarce, but some speculation indicates that she will be a 4-star Electro character who wields a polearm in battle. Based on these same leaks, Iansan will have a hybrid buffer and healer role in team comps with a unique mechanic that may record how much distance the active character has traveled, which may make Iansan an incredible new character in Genshin Impact.
Most Of Iansan’s Materials In Genshin Impact 5.5 Have Leaked
Only One Item Hasn’t Been Revealed
Before players take advantage of these rumored abilities, however, they will have to fully Ascend and take Iansan to level 90, while also increasing her Talents’ levels to guarantee she operates at her peak potential. Those who are eagerly anticipating Iansan may start pre-farming, as most of her materials have already leaked. According to information provided by the leaker known as Narc1ssus, which was shared in a post flagged as “Questionable” on Reddit, all but one type of material for Iansan can already be farmed in Genshin Impact.
Pre-farming the leaked materials could be a clever way of getting ahead of schedule and ensuring that the proper materials needed to unlock Iansan’s Ascension thresholds are available, which should help shorten the time spent farming the one item that is rumored to be a new material arriving with Version 5.5; which will require players to farm it once the patch becomes available. Because this list of materials is based on leaks, players should be wary that some items used by Iansan may change throughout the beta tests, which could render some of their farming efforts in Genshin Impact useless.
Where & How To Farm Iansan Ascension Materials Before Genshin Impact 5.5
Players Can Optimize A Lot Of Their Farming Efforts
According to the leaks and because Iansan is rumored to be an Electro character, it’s expected that she will consume Vajrada Amethyst stones in her Ascension. Vajrada Amethyst stones drop primarily from bosses that have some sort of connection to Electro, including the Electro Hypostasis, Millennial Pearl Seahorse, Secret Source Automaton: Configuration Device, Tenebrous Papilla, Childe, Stormterror, and Magatsu Mitake Narukami no Mikoto.
Even though several sources can drop them, players should farm the Vajrada Amethyst stones with the Tenebrous Papilla boss in Genshin Impact.
The Tenebrous Papilla is the best source of Vajrada Amethyst stones for Iansan, specifically, because the leaked list of material also shows she consumes Ensnaring Gaze, a world boss material that can only be obtained by beating Tenebrous Papilla. As such, players can optimize a portion of their farming efforts by farming both the Vajrada Amethyst stones and Ensnaring Gaze from a single source rather than obtaining them from distinct world bosses in Genshin Impact. This doesn’t happen often, so players should take advantage of it since it could significantly reduce farming time and spare resources for some Resin-hungry activities.
In addition to that, the leak also shows that Iansan consumes the Whistle enemy drops for her Ascension – and, as is normally the case, she will likely also use these in her Talent-leveling process. Sentry's Wooden Whistle, Warrior's Metal Whistle, and Saurian-Crowned Warrior's Golden Whistle can all be farmed by defeating Sauroform Tribal Warriors enemies spread across Natlan. A large quantity will be consumed, so players will likely need to repeat farming routes multiple times.
The good news is that players only need to wait for respawn times rather than spend Resin in Genshin Impact to farm more Whistle materials.
The last type of Ascension item shown on the leaked list of Iansan’s materials is 168 copies of an undetermined resource. Based on the quantity that is required, this is likely a Local Specialty and, because it hasn’t been revealed yet, it will likely be introduced with Version 5.5 within the rumored new Natlan map area. This means that players will need to farm this item once the update arrives. For reference, it is likely the same Local Specialty listed among Varesa’s leaked materials in Genshin Impact 5.5.
In addition to materials, per si, Iansan will also need 420,000 Mora to get through all of her Ascension thresholds, plus an extra 1,673,400 Mora if she is leveled up exclusively with Character EXP Materials (419 Hero’s Wit will be consumed to take her to level 90, according to the leak). If needed, Mora should be farmed in Blossom of Wealth activities in Natlan, since they will have a chance to bring Sauroform Tribal Warriors to combat and, in turn, offer a chance to farm additional Whistle materials in Genshin Impact.
Where & How To Farm Iansan Talent Materials Before Genshin Impact 5.5
Iansan’s Talent Books May Be Annoying To Farm
When it comes to the Talent items, the leaked list of Iansan materials already accounts for the combined number of Whistle materials in the Ascension process. While the enemies, per si, are the main source of these items, players can also purchase extra copies from Paimon’s Bargains, should they have the resources. As is the case with any type of item family, the Alchemy Table in Genshin Impact should also be used to transform lower-grade materials into rarer ones.
The leaked list also shows that Iansan consumes the Contention Talent books from Natlan. Teachings of Contention, Guide to Contention, and Philosophies of Contention can be farmed from the Blazing Ruins Domain of Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays, exclusively. Aside from the fact that many copies are needed, these Talent books are problematic because they are the same that have been used for Mualani, Mavuika, and the Pyro Traveler, so if players have acquired and leveled any of these characters, players will have to return to this same Domain and farm it many more times.
If players obtained Mavuika in Version 5.3 and didn’t pre-farm for her, there is a chance that they are still farming Contention Talent books due to the game’s daily limitation for Resin and how the material only drops on specific days.
According to the leak, Iansan’s Talents (at higher levels) consume Denial and Judgment, a weekly boss material that can be obtained by beating The Knave in Genshin Impact. Denial and Judgment is one of the three possible materials the boss can drop, so there is a chance that no copies will drop on a certain week, while more than one can be obtained on another. Because of the heavy limitations imposed on weekly bosses and Domains, Denial and Judgment and the Contention Talent books are the most important materials to pre-farm for Iansan.
The leak also confirms that Iansan will use three Crowns of Insight to top off each of her active Talents. Crown of Insight is a rare Talent material that can be obtained from limited-time events, as well as various Reputation systems. Furthermore, some can be obtained from Paimon’s Bargains, though the quantity is limited. Lastly, players will have to invest 4,957,500 Mora to fully upgrade all of Iansan’s Talents – a value that adds up with the Ascension costs and reaches the 7.1 million Mora described in the Genshin Impact 5.5 leak.
Although players should still take the leak with a grain of salt and be wary of possibly spending time pre-farming items that will be changed during the beta tests, the act of pre-farming is actually great to save up time and effort, especially during Version 5.4, a patch that isn’t offering too much content to keep players otherwise occupied when compared to the amount of content in Version 5.3. Those who pre-farm Iansan’s materials for Genshin Impact 5.5 will have little farming to do once she is released if the leaks are accurate.
