Good News for Some Wildlife after Wildfires

A wounded fox and a mountain lion with a kitten are alive and well after devastating blazes last August and October.

Wildfires are dangerous to animals as well as people and buildings, but a few bits of good news about wildlife came out this week. One, a Sonoma County grey fox that burned its paws severely in the August Tubbs Fire fully recovered and was released back into the wild. Two, a Sonoma wildlife camera caught images of a surviving mountain lion and its kitten after they were feared dead in the wake of October’s Nuns Fire.
