California Highway Patrol successfully rescued a hiker last weekend when she was unexpectedly stranded after the sun set in Santa Rosa’s Trione-Annadel State Park. The problem: The woman only had her prescription sunglasses on hand, and became essentially blind after dark. Rescuers used a helicopter, night vision goggles, and a thermal-imaging camera to find her.
