Details: Join us on a late winter day hike to the summits of North and Middle Tripyramid, two 4000 footers in the Sandwich Range Wilderness. We will approach from the north from the Kancamangus highway and take an out-and- back route using the Pine Bend Brook and Mount Tripyramid trails. Total distance is 9.6 miles with 3483′ elevation gain, with book time at 6.5 hours. Expect several stream crossings and some steep sections. Previous winter hiking experience is required, as are crampons, snowshoes, and microspikes. Full winter gear, including rigid plastic or mountaineering boots, crampons and ice axe, required. Please refer to winter gear list below. If trail conditions are not conducive to a safe or enjoyable trip, we will reroute to alternative peaks.
