A Pacific Coast Trail hiker reported she stabbed a black bear that attacked her in California’s Vasquez Rocks Park; the bear then ran away, and she escaped the encounter with minor scratches. Officials closed the park as a precaution but couldn’t locate the bear; nor did they find blood, the knife, or bear tracks.
