First responders rescued a hiker on the Frankenstein Cliff Trail in Crawford Notch State Park May 30. Mary Crivelli, 43, of Maryland, was about 2.5 miles from the trailhead when she sustained an ankle injury after slipping on a rock near the summit. A member of her hiking party called for assistance. New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officers, along with staff and students from Stonehearth Open Learning Opportunities, responded. Crivelli was carried to the trailhead and transported to the hospital via private vehicle. NH Fish and Games reports that Crivelli was properly equipped and had appropriate gear.
