Hogwarts Legacy Is Getting Official PC Mods, As Well As One New Feature Aimed At Creators
Hogwarts Legacy will soon become even more magical, with Avalanche Software's upcoming patch providing support to the creative community to mod the PC version of the game. The immersive RPG set in the wizarding world made famous by Harry Potter already inspires creativity as players stretch their imaginations at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Now, using the CurseForge platform for modding, players will have easy access to downloading available mods directly from the main menu of Hogwarts Legacy, and anyone who wishes to create their own mods for quests, dungeons, cosmetics, and more can do so.
On January 30, 2025, a free patch for the PC version of Hogwarts Legacy will provide full mod support and an in-game mod manager for players to easily create, share, and download mods for their game. The surprise addition to Hogwarts Legacy will be available through Steam and Epic Games Store, although the Hogwarts Legacy Creator Kit is only confirmed for the Epic Games Store.
Hogwarts Legacy shared a video explaining the new features on their YouTube channel, including some sneak peeks at a few of the mods that will be available as soon as the patch goes live.
Hogwarts Legacy PC Fans Will Gain Access To A Plethora Of New Mods
Many Mods Already Available As Soon As The System Goes Live
Using the new system, PC players should gain easy access to download new mods through the in-game mod manager on the main menu. CurseForge will have numerous mods already there for players to try out as soon as the patch goes live on January 30, with more mods quickly coming as the creative community begins to experiment with the free creation kit's abilities.
Among the mods teased in the video are several new hairstyles and clothing cosmetics, alternative flying mounts including a vacuum cleaner or magic carpet, and new skins for NPCs. The system also includes mods for adding new dungeons and quests to the game, with an example provided of a new "Dungeon of Doom" mod that provides a full dungeon with combat, hidden secrets, and more.
Mod Creators Will Be Given Their Own Creator Kit In Hogwarts Legacy PC
CurseForge Will Have A Hogwarts Legacy Creator Kit
The talented modding community will be able to download the free Hogwarts Legacy Creator Kit from the Epic Game Store. The easy-to-use tool will allow imaginations to run free, with a design that is made to be user-friendly for even those who are newer to modding. After creating a mod, people will then easily be able to upload their mods to the mod manager in the game for others to try out.
Of course, this isn't the first time mods have been available in Hogwarts Legacy, but these new officially-sanctioned tools will make the entire experience of creating and sharing mods much simpler and more reliable. Additionally, any player who might be curious about trying mods will now have an easier way of discovering quality content for their Hogwarts Legacy experiences on PC.
