Honkai Star Rail 3.2 Leaks: Castorice's Splash Art Sketch May Seem Ludicrous, But It Holds One Important Secret About Her Gameplay Kit

A new leak about Castorice’s splash art in Honkai: Star Rail has emerged and, despite how poorly sketched it is and how ludicrous it seems based on its quality alone, it may be hiding one important secret about the upcoming character’s gameplay kit. Castorice is one of the many Chrysos Heirs, the heroes from Amphoreus. She has already been introduced as an NPC during the story quests set in Amphoreus and, as such her character model is already finalized. Even so, she is expected to be released as a playable Amphoreus character in Honkai: Star Rail in a future update.

According to Amphoreus’ lore, Castorice is a servant of the Titan Thanatos and she is prophecized as the daughter of River Styx. This is reflected in one of her curses: her inability to touch others without killing them. While her design is already confirmed thanks to her appearance in the game, there are still some unknown details about her, such as when she will become playable – and how she will look in her splash art. Now, a new leak about Castorice’s design in Honkai: Star Rail has been shared, providing some insight into how her drip marketing may look.

Castorice’s Splash Art In Honkai: Star Rail Has Been Sketched By A Leaker

The Simple Illustration Shows The Amphoreus Character Surrounded

The structure of Castorice’s splash art for her drip marketing may have been outlined by a sketch. The illustration was made and provided by the leaker known as Uncle Guoba and then shared in a post flagged as “Questionable” on Reddit. As seen in the sketch, a humanoid figure, interpreted to be Castorice, stands in the middle, holding a bouquet of flowers. Around her, there are some extra lines and sketches, which seem to indicate the presence of yet another figure, though its details are hard to determine. Nevertheless, this could be Castorice’s rumored dragon in Honkai: Star Rail.

For reference, a dragon-like creature is seen along with Castorice in the first teaser trailer for the Amphoreus characters, and this figure in the illustration may be it. The sketch is rudimentary and made without too many details. Castorice is represented by the drawing of a stick figure without any aspects of her design, and what is believed to be her dragon is also barely distinguishable. As ridiculous as the sketch may seem to be taken seriously, sketches similar to these determined, fairly accurately, the splash arts for Aglaea and The Herta in Honkai: Star Rail, before the drip marketing.

Castorice’s Sketch In Honkai: Star Rail Leaks Could Confirm Her Path

Rumors Are That She Will Be A Remembrance Character

If this sketch lives up to the accuracy of the previous sketches that showed how Aglaea and The Herta’s splash arts would be, there may be more to it than expected. Castorice being accompanied by a bouquet of flowers is no surprise, as blooming flowers of death are left in her wake when she so desires, and it is a key element to her design. However, the illustrated dragon may be exactly what confirms previous leaks about her. The previous leaks mentioned that she would have a dragon companion and that she would follow the Remembrance in Honkai: Star Rail.

The stacking of rumors about Castorice having a dragon companion actually adds up with the leaks saying she is a Remembrance character. This is because units on this Path are specialized in summoning allies to the field, called memosprites. The dragon mentioned in leaks and in Castorice’s sketch may very well be the memosprite she is capable of summoning onto the field. If this is the case, the sketch provided by Uncle Guoba may be foreshadowing the reveal of Castorice’s memosprite as part of her drip marketing’s key art in the game, which may occur within a few weeks.

Uncle Guoba had previously leaked that Castorice will be a 5-star Quantum character following the Path of the Remembrance.

It’s uncertain how this possible memosprite would work within Castorice’s kit nor what role she takes in team comps – Remembrance characters can have varied roles: Aglaea in Honkai: Star Rail is the party’s main DPS unit, while the Remembrance Trailblazer operates as a support for their team comp. However, this new sketch adds up with the previous rumors and it does seem like Castorice may, indeed, be the next playable Remembrance character following Aglaea’s release. Version 3.1 will not feature any new Remembrance units, as HoYoverse has already confirmed the releases of Mydei and Tribbie in Honkai: Star Rail.

When Will Castorice Be Released As A Playable Character In Honkai: Star Rail?

The Character Is Rumored To Arrive In Version 3.2

HoYoverse hasn’t confirmed if Castorice will become a playable character, much less when she will arrive. However, leaks about the Amphoreus characters have mentioned that Castorice’s release will occur in Version 3.2. If this is the case, her drip marketing should not take too long to occur. Drip marketing for new playable characters tends to be shared by HoYoverse on the week of the next patch’s livestream. Because livestreams occur two weeks before the patch’s release, Version 3.1’s livestream may occur on February 14 and, as such, the Honkai: Star Rail 3.2 drip marketing may happen a few days earlier.

The speculation based on the company’s prior behavior indicates that Castorice’s drip marketing will occur around February 10. This is when the leaked sketch by Uncle Guoba should be confirmed or debunked. Of course, this would only be marketing for the character, as she would arrive at some point with Version 3.2 if she is featured in the splash arts. With patches for the turn-based RPG lasting six weeks and starting on Wednesdays (late Tuesdays in the United States), it’s expected that Honkai: Star Rail 3.2 will be released on April 9. This is considering that the update isn’t delayed.

There is also a chance that Castorice will arrive after, especially if her debut is pushed into Phase 2 banners rather than Phase 1 banners. Even so, there’s been a lot more information about Castorice circling recently and it seems players will not have to wait too much longer before having a chance at pulling for her. If players haven’t attuned with Aglaea or the Remembrance Trailblazer, Castorice may offer a new set of options for the Remembrance as a playable Path, but only time will tell how strong she is in Honkai: Star Rail’s new meta.
