Hyderabad: Mahavir Hospital inaugurates renovated Cardiology wing

Hyderabad: Mahavir Hospital and Research Centre, part of the Bhagwan Mahavir Memorial Trust, announced the inauguration of its newly renovated Cardiology wing on Sunday.

The cardiology wing was renovated with donors' donations, the cardiology wing was formally inaugurated by KIMS Group of Hospitals Chairman and Managing Director Dr B. Bhaskar Rao along with Guests of Honour B. Balakrishna, Commissioner of Income Tax (Exemptions) and Amit Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Income Tax (TDS), news agency UNI reported.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Bhaskar Rao, said they propose to offer Cardiology tests including an Angiogram(a diagnostic test that examines blood vessels to check for any potential heart conditions) at affordable cost of Rs 10,000 and Open Heart Surgery or Angioplasty (a Minimal Invasive procedure in which narrow arteries are made wide to treat the heart conditions) in Rs 2 lakh(while the cost outside is above Rs 3 lakh) to begin with for the first few months, maybe for about six months.

Balakrishna said Mahavir Hospital has been providing quality care at affordable cost.

According to a UNI report, in his opening remarks, Mahendra Ranka, Chairman announced that plans are on the anvil to build another hospital on the backside of the existing hospital.

All the donors were felicitated on the occasion.

The hospital has a recognised in-house blood bank, a recognised nursing school, a research centre, an ambulance facility, trauma care, an intensive coronary care unit, and digital-x-ray among others.

Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that the state government has decided to add 65 more new medical treatments under the Rajiv Arogya Sri scheme besides increasing the package cost of the existing 1,375 medical treatments.
