Hyper Light Breaker: How To Get More Bright Blood

Getting Bright Blood in Hyper Light Breaker is the best way to continue to progress your game. There are a fair number of ways to do so, but they are not all as intuitive as some of the others. The game is in Early Access, so there may still be more ways to get Bright Blood as the game continues to grow and expand.

The Early Access version of Hyper Light Breaker is still being improved as the game continues to get updated. There will be more enemies, more characters, and more upgrades as the game gets closer to full launch. For now, however, players will have to figure some pieces out for themselves, including how to use Bright Blood to progress.

Every Way To Bright Blood In Hyper Light Break

Finding It In The Overgrowth & In The Hub

Your character in Hyper Light Breaker will be dependent on you collecting the Bright Blood in order to progress. There will be a number of different ways to do so, and there are several different skill trees and stores to keep track of in the game. Right now, there are a few known ways to get Bright Blood.

  • From enemies
  • From destructible objects in the game
  • From selling gear you collect

The best and most fruitful way to get Bright Blood is to kill enemies. In that way, it works like many roguelites in that enemies drop what you need to progress. Bright Blood is the main thing that gets carried over when you die, so there’s no need to worry about losing it. You also get points for it when you finish a cycle that can get you closer to a Golden Ration which is how you permanently progress in the game.

Additionally, throughout a level there will be lots of small destructible objects scattered across the map. In my time with the game, nearly everything I destroyed gave at least a few shards of Bright Blood, and even some of the objects that gave other rewards also gave Bright Blood. The items don’t necessarily look destructible when you start the game, so you will want to keep an eye out and test out your weapon on them when you get the chance.

Lastly, if you are in the Hub, you can use one of the vendors there to sell some of the gear you have collected. While this may sound less optimal, selling some lower-tier gear to get extra Bright Blood to go into the next run with a better weapon can be a good thing. It all depends on how much you have collected and if the Vendor has a weapon you are looking for.

If your gear is still around, you can take it into the next run even if it’s a new cycle. That is something to keep in mind. However, you could also sell off all your gear to go into the next cycle with a much better weapon, so consider what you want your options to be.

Progression in Hyper Light Breaker is quite slow at the beginning, but players can get further by knowing how to save and spend their resources. Bright Blood is a key element in every system, so knowing how to get all that you can manage in Hyper Light Breaker will be key to finishing the game.
