"I'm Very Ashamed To Say This": Recent Stardew Valley Switch Patch Causes Crashes And Errors, Creator ConcernedApe Working On A Fix

Stardew Valley Switch players may encounter some issues following a patch released a few days ago. The update, which celebrated Stardew Valley's ninth birthday, fixed some errors and added a few new Easter eggs for fans to discover. It seems the patch also had some unintended side effects, and players may want to stay away from the triggers until a fix is issued.

In a post on X, the game's creator, ConcernedApe, let fans know that the recent Switch patch 1.6.15.1 is causing some known issues. ConcernedApe states that he is "very ashamed to say this, but there is an error in the recent Switch patch." The game is "mostly playable," he goes on to say, but he's asking fans to "avoid artifact troves and back room of adventure guild." A patch to fix the issues is being worked on "as fast as possible."

Stardew Valley is now 9 years old, with fans reflecting on how far the game has progressed, as well as how it has changed the lives of its players.

Unfortunately, it seems that something has gone wrong with the Switch version of the patch. According to ConcernedApe, Switch users are experiencing crashes post-patch, and some text is appearing as "garbled." ConcernedApe is aware of the issue and a fix is in the works. Based on previous times when this has happened, fans can expect a patch to be issued fairly quickly. Until then, players should stay away from the adventure guild and artifact troves, as ConcernerApe suggests.

Instead of getting mad about the patch issues, the Stardew Valley community is more concerned with ConcernedApe's mental health. In a Reddit post about the X update, Redditor Unique_Cauliflower62 writes that they "wish I could give him a hug." Reddit user yassvaginaslay states sadly that ConcernedApe is "too hard on himself."

I wish I could give him a hug.

After nine years of building a community, issuing countless free updates, and working tirelessly for Stardew Valley players, ConcernedApe certainly deserves a break. One comment by AstralAly seems to encapsulate the way the community feels about the situation, and I really hope ConcernedApe sees it: "We love you, ConcernedApe! Don't be so concerned, buddy."
