“I Stand Strong Again”: Jeremy Renner Commemorates 2 Years Since His Accident With Emotional Post Thanking (& Apologizing To) The People Who Saved His Life
Jeremy Renner is best known for playing Hawkeye in the MCU and for his starring role in The Hurt Locker (2008), but he's now also widely known for his work in the TV space, playing the starring role in Taylor Sheridan's Mayor of Kingstown series. His notable stature as an actor made it all the more shocking when, on January 1, 2023, Renner was run over by his own snow-removal tractor at his home in Nevada, eliciting an outpouring of support from around the world, including from his MCU costars and beyond.
Renner, who was said to have been trying to save his nephew from being struck by the unmanned, seven-ton vehicle, suffered more than 30 broken bones, as well as severe blunt chest trauma, which included a collapsed lung. He was subsequently airlifted to a local hospital in Reno, undergoing multiple life-saving surgeries. Since that day in 2023, it's been a long road to recovery for the Hawkeye actor, who has shared multiple social media posts about his continued training regimen to get his strength back.

Renner shares a new post on social media commemorating two years since the snowplow accident that nearly took his life. This marks the second of Renner's anniversary posts about the experience, with a post about one year ago showing him embracing his daughter, with the caption calling her "reason number one" for his recovery. A second post from around the same time featured Renner in a fire truck, thanking the first responders who played a role in saving him in early 2023.
Renner now takes to Instagram to share a heartfelt new post about the accident, thanking those who acted quickly to save his life, including first responders in Reno and his neighbors. The actor also takes time to thank his family, and all who helped him through his lengthy recovery journey, though he does apologize for some of the "haunting images" the experience left them with. What Jeremy Renner's Recovery Means For His Acting Career
What Projects He Has Coming Up
Renner, very understandably, hasn't been as prominent a presence on the big screen as he was before his accident. He recently returned as Mike McLusky in Mayor of Kingstown season 3, which premiered in June. It has now been confirmed that Renner will reprise his role once more for a season 4, which Paramount announced in December.
Mayor of Kingstown season 4 does not yet have an official release date, but filming is expected to begin this month, suggesting it could arrive later this year.
As far as movie roles go, Renner has his first big film since the accident coming up in the form of Rian Johnson's Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, which will see him starring opposite Daniel Craig, Cailee Spaeny, Josh Brolin, Kerry Washington, Josh O'Connor, Andrew Scott, and Mila Kunis. He's also set to appear in an untitled movie about the makers of OxyContin. It's unclear what Renner has planned beyond these two projects and Mayor of Kingstown season 4, but it is clear that, two years later, his snowplow accident still sticks with him.
