In an exclusive interview with ScreenRant, Butler hints at the timeline for Den of Thieves 3. He and his co-star Jackson Jr. were reminded of the long gap between Den of Thieves and its sequel. Butler then assured ScreenRant that it is "not going to take that long" for the third movie, despite the big hiatus between the first two. Firstly, 2020 saw the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, which shut down countless productions, including Den of Thieves 2. Director Christian Gudegast also recently explained that Butler's knee injury held up production further.
The obstacles that affected the production of Den of Thieves 2: Pantera are unlikely to surface again since a seven-year gap is lengthy for a new action franchise. It is noteworthy that Butler does not promise a specific timeline for Den of Thieves 3, just that it is slated to come faster than the second film.
