In one piece of positive wildfire news, Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials rescued and are treating an orphaned bear cub with severely burnt paws in the aftermath of the Durango-area wildfire. Vets are strict about minimizing human contact to prevent it from becoming too used to people and expect the cub will be well enough to return to the wild this winter.
