Invincible Season 3, Episode 4 Trailer: Mark Helps 2 New Characters In Cryptic Teaser

Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Invincible season 3, episodes 1-3!

A trailer for Invincible season 3, episode 4 has been released, showing Mark helping two new characters in a cryptic teaser for another high-octane episode. Invincible season 3 has introduced a plethora of new challenges for Mark (Steven Yeun) as he evolves as a superhero, including his falling out with Cecil (Walton Goggins), training Oliver (Christian Convery), and new relationship with Eve (Gillian Jacobs). The newest episodes have also introduced characters who promise to have larger roles in the story as more information about them is revealed.

Now, Invinciblehas released a new trailer for season 3, episode 4, teasing that Mark is going to be helping two new characters. Starting with Mark stained with blood, the trailer cuts to the silhouettes of who appear to be Fightmaster and Dropkick coming out of a portal. A dystopian version of Earth is shown, alongside the planet being bombed, while the outline of a king-like character is featured. A rebellion is mentioned, as Mark asks how he can help someone. Check out the new trailer below:

What Invincible's New Trailer Reveals About Season 3, Episode 4

It's Following Up On A Story From Season 3's Premiere

The new trailer implies Mark will be running into Fightmaster and Dropkick again soon, the pair last seen in the season 3 premiere stealing the Declaration of Independence. While it's unclear why they were taking the important historical document, their dialogue implied they were time travelers, having knowledge of when the police would arrive on the scene ahead of time. The dystopian shots in the trailer imply this is their future, meaning their placement as characters in Invincible season 3 will become important quite quickly.

While it's unclear who this king-like figure is, they'll seemingly be a core threat considering the importance of an American document that involved secession from a monarchy. With Mark deciding to help, this will be his biggest solo mission since his fallout with Cecil, meaning he'll have to tread carefully about how well he can handle the situation on his own. It will also take him away from his family at a time of great uncertainty, both as he trains Oliver, and because Invincible revealed they're being watched at the end of season 3, episode 3.

With season 3, episode 4's trailer teasing a new threat for Mark, it appears the upcoming adventure will be one of his most challenging in quite some time. As he learns more about why Fightmaster and Dropkick need the Declaration of Independence, it could play into the season's themes of redemption and what it really means to be a hero, or a villain. Since the outline of this dark future has only just been revealed, it remains to be seen how Invincible will fully embrace it going into the next episode.
