Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Invincible season 3, episode 5!

The trailer for Invincible season 3, episode 6 has been released, showcasing Aaron Paul's Powerplex debut as Mark's next big adversary. Invincible season 3 has introduced multiple major villains for Mark (Steven Yeun) to face off against, such as Multi-Paul (Simu Liu) and Mister Liu (Tzi Ma) of The Order. He's also made enemies with Cecil (Walton Goggins) after a falling out over reforming villains to work at the GDA. All this is happening as the looming threat of the Viltrumites continues, with the group still planning to take over Earth.

Now, Invinciblehas released a new trailer for season 3, episode 6, featuring the debut of Paul as Mark's latest antagonist, Powerplex. As he introduces himself, the names of people at what appears to be a memorial are shown. Debbie (Sanda Oh) and Oliver (Christian Convery) are also there dressed in suits, seemingly visiting the site. Rudy (Ross Marquand) is also briefly seen working on something mysterious. What Invincible Season 3, Episode 6's Trailer Means For The Show

A Dark Confrontation Is About To Unfold

Paul will be expanding the cast of Invincible season 3 when he arrives as Powerplex, a super-powered individual on a quest for revenge against Mark. Much like his comic counterpart, the electricity-controlling antagonist seeks revenge for the death of his sister, who was killed during the main character's fight with Omni-Man in Chicago. He blames the superhero for what happened to her, seeking justice by fighting him, wanting to prevent a similar catastrophe from happening ever again.

Invincible season 3, episode 5 finally delves into the lore of The Order criminal organization, and here is every villain who is a member.

Powerplex's motivations slightly mirror those of Angstrom Levy (Sterling K. Brown), who tried killing Mark as revenge for what his multiverse counterparts did to him in their universes. However, this is more personal, as Paul's character clearly blames the protagonist for what happened instead of basing the conflict off other versions of him. Since this is his first episode, he'll likely be able to prove himself a strong enemy, but may also appear during Invincible season 4 and later seasons, as many villains already have.

Powerplex Is Going To Be An Interesting New Villain

Powerplex's motivations are more complex than other villains Mark has fought, as his fight comes from wanting to seek revenge for someone he loved. This plays into the themes of the season regarding what it means to be good and evil, as his motivation stems from what he believes is morally correct after his sister's death. It should prove interesting to see how Invincible handles his character, and what the upcoming fight will entail.
