Invisible Woman vs Red Hulk Proves the World Should Never Underestimate Sue Storm

Warning: Contains spoilers for Red Hulk #2!!

Red Hulk may be one of Marvel's most intimidating foes to face on a battlefield, but there's one opponent up to the task of facing him without so much as a flinch. Fantastic Four's Invisible Woman goes toe-to-toe variant cover match-up is a reminder of exactly why she's the Four's most powerful member. If anyone is ready to hold Red Hulk's rage at bay, it's Sue Storm-Richards.

As first announced by Marvel, Red Hulk #2 – written by Benjamin Percy, with art by Geoff Shaw – will ship with a stunning variant cover by artist Greg Land, offering fans a glimpse at what a match-up between Red Hulk and the Invisible Woman might look like.

Although fans aren't going to see an actual showdown between Invisible Woman and Red Hulk anytime soon, Sue Storm has proven herself against foes just as strong - or stronger - as Thaddeus Ross in full rage mode. Since the Fantastic Four's initial encounter with cosmic rays, Sue has grown into the strongest member of the team. Her incredible control over the spectrum of light, ability to generate unbelievably strong forcefields, and draw on a potentially endless source of power emboldens her to take on opponents others would need a full team to face - making her the perfect opponent for Red Hulk.

Even as a hypothetical match, [Sue Storm v. Red Hulk] promises to be intense.

For all of Invisible Woman's impressive abilities, a fight against Red Hulk still wouldn't be an easy match. While the variant cover depicts her holding her shield with ease, Thaddeus Ross is a formidable enemy. With control over his intelligence and transformation, he already has some clear advantages over the Hulk. That's coupled with incredible stamina, rage-induced heat and radiation abilities, and more. At full strength, he'd test the limits of Invisible Woman's forcefields, and if Sue lost concentration, it could likely turn the battle in Red Hulk's favor. Even as a hypothetical match, it promises to be intense.

The Fantastic Four remain one of Marvel's premiere superhero teams, and between them they have genius intellect, raw strength, and literal firepower. Yet, despite those advantages, Sue Richards' constantly expanding arsenal of light-based abilities would allow her to end the world entirely if she chose to. Someone capable of wiping out life on Earth by blocking the sun ultimately has an advantage over every living being on the planet - including the likes of Thaddeus Ross. As Invisible Woman and Red Hulkface off on an upcoming variant cover, fans get a taste of why the Fantastic Four hero would emerge victorious.
